191 CHAPPIE JAMES BLVD SW BOLLING – Burger King
Reviews
Burger King got its start back in 1954 when two guys, James McLamore and David Edgerton, opened the first location in Miami, Florida. It was originally under the name Insta-Burger King. They bought the rights to a weird little broiler machine that could cook burgers fast and consistent in minutes. Eventually, they rebranded it simply as Burger King. From that one Miami shop, the chain grew like crazy through franchising and as of 2025 they can boast that they have over 19,000 Burger King locations in more than 100 countries worldwide. Washington DC has about 25–27. This location is one of them. I stopped there recently on a visit to the base. There is plenty of parking and it is easy to access and find since it is in a standalone building just south of the Child Development center and the Exchange. It has a drive through which seems quicker than ordering inside many times that I tried it. I tried this 3 separate times. The seating area was not cleaned at any time that I visited and they seemed to only have one cashier no matter how many customers were waiting. The food was pretty good and the prices were reasonable. It was convenient and the staff was pleasant. If you want a quick bite or a coffee this could be a reasonable choice.
When I visited, there were about five employees working and no one in line. I placed my order and waited over 15 minutes, yet nothing was brought out. When I went to check at the counter, staff acted as if my order had never been taken and admitted they had forgotten it completely.
Like many customers, I juggle work and family, and I don’t come here to waste time sitting around waiting to be acknowledged. Basic service — receiving the food you’ve already paid for — should not be too much to ask.
This location needs serious improvement in communication, accountability, and customer care.
I’m not sure why the wait is so long but I’ve had to back out of the drive thru line multiple times because I was waiting at least 5 minutes without anyone available to take my order. I figured the drive thru microphone or sensors weren’t working yet. The drive thru line was backup and not moving. I went inside to place my order. The line was long there as well. The prices on the menu didn’t match the prices that were rung up. This is the worst BK experience. It’s fast food it shouldn’t take 30 minutes to place an order and receive my food. The dining area was dirty. On the positive the food was good.
It be too much talking and drama and workers be wrong and these out of stock or out of order.
Attitudes be at an all time high. But yet “we rule”
Nah.
Clean this place up from real. Should not be performing like this on base.
