I love everything about Gabby’s on Main! The food is exceptional. The atmosphere is welcoming, clean, and fun. And the service was warm, courteous and will keep you coming back again and again.
This is the type of place I would drive out of my way to stop at. I was headed down to Lake Murphysboro to camp for the weekend and saw that I could take the highway and drive right past. Totally worth the extra time.
I stopped in and placed a carry out order to take with me to my campsite and enjoy by the lake. I ordered a Jalapeño Burger with Potatoe Salad for a side. Both hit the spot!
While I waited, I played the slot machines. I put $20 in and cashed out when my order was ready about 15-20 minutes later with a little over $25.
Thanks so much for providing a delicious stop along my path. Next time I’m in the area, you can bet I will be stopping by again. It’s a 2 hour drive from my hometown, but I could totally see me doing a food roadtrip just to eat there again.

Sorry – I should have taken the picture before I smashed the burger down. This is one of those – you need two hands to hold it – big appetite burgers. I didn’t need anything to eat until mid way through my morning the next day! Yum!

It was not a good experience. I chose the wrong time and day to visit this restaurant. I ordered a burger (which was not good), and it took almost an hour, and my fries were cold.
I told my waitress. She took my plate, walked a few feet away through the kitchen door, and shouted, “She said her fries are cold,” As I would lie after waiting an hour.
I later learned that the lady who waited on me was the owner, and she seemed very frustrated. I’m not sure if I would return, but it seems to be a great place when staffed.

Met with several high school mates for monthly luncheon. We were told we could sit anywhere we wanted. We chose the room in the front where we could talk, laugh and cry loudly if we so desired. The Bacon Ranch Wrap was the special. It was freshly prepared and delicious. The onion rings were top notch also. The waitress was the best ever, she took very good care of our group. In fact, she brought in two bowls of mixed nuts and M & Ms for us to enjoy as we chatted. It was my first trip, but it will not be my last.

Gabby’s is a quaint bar and grill located in the small town of Ava. Gabby’s has a wide menu featuring steak, burgers, blue gill, and daily specials. I recommend Gabby’s. Good food and service.

It was a complete surprise to me. We’re in the middle of nowhere and in this little town of a few hundred there’s a nice place to have lunch or dinner surprising. Now there is a local diner type restaurant in town and it’s good for a for lunch and breakfast so both are recommended in their own way. They’re different , so enjoy. Food is an upgraded, bar food , cost a couple bucks more but it’s going to good . As far as I can predict with limited experience there, thanks

We just stopped in for the first time for an appetizer and drink but the potato skins were very tasty and service was great! It also looked like they had some really delicious specials on the board such as steak and shrimp and even frog legs! There is three different sections of seating and they have a nice patio area as well. Small town vibes, big time fun!
