We came back for the ribeye steak, but unfortunately it was not on the menu anymore . Sad.
We had a lovely dining experience overall. The grilled octopus was a standout—perfectly tender and bursting with flavor. It came served on a bed of hummus or some kind of purée that was incredibly rich and well-seasoned, adding the perfect creamy contrast to the char of the octopus.
The tenderloin was also impressive—beautifully soft and juicy, though it leaned a bit more on the rare side than expected for a medium rare. Still, the flavor and quality of the meat made up for it. I’m not usually one to eat mashed potatoes, but I have to admit, these were absolutely packed with flavor and hard to resist.
We ended the meal with in-house chocolate chip cookies that were warm, gooey, and simply delicious—an unexpectedly perfect finish.
Service-wise, Julie was very sweet and personable, though a bit forgetful at times. Nothing major, but worth noting if you’re someone who values attentiveness.
Overall, a memorable meal with a few quirks, but the food more than made up for them. Would definitely return.

Hands down 10 outta 10 experience! From the food to the service everything was quite exquisite. My sister and I had the calamari, Parmesan ceaser salad, grouper and the most delicious dessert… Breakfast in the morning was mind-blowing I had not one thing that was bad! Thanks Rustys bistro for such an amazing time to remember ❤️

Not at all impressed with the food for the price. The menu was not the same as online and was very limited. My “breaded” steak was burnt and served with French fries for $38! The calamari was chewy and inedible. We ran out of water and had to wait several minutes for our server to offer more water although the place was nearly empty. I do always like to end on a good note; the staff was very very nice and welcoming, the bread appetizer and salmon entree were very good oh and my son loved the broccoli.

I need to try this place again. I tried it for the first time on Valentines day with a reservation we made more than a week in advance. To be fair it was a set menu and I hate set menus, but I realize they do these on nights they have a high volume of people and want to make it seem more personal yet quick. We only had 3 hours total. 2 hours to eat and 1 hour of drive time because we only had a sitter for 3 hours that’s why we were so specific with reservation time. We showed up 20 minutes early for our reservation and we’re told to sit outside in the lobby. We checked back in at our reservation time and were told to have a seat in the lobby untill they came for us. We were offered alcohol for the inconvenience, but we dont drink so we just sat in the lobby for a while. We were finally sat very very very late about 30 to 45 minutes late. After being sat they did mention the kitchen was backed up. We were served another hour later and I could tell the waiter was trying his best to pace things out to make it less noticeable things were coming out slow. Sadly the food came out about the time we had to leave to get the kids so we did have to pack up all the food and eat it at home after picking up the kids. I’m probably more disappointed that we didn’t get to eat nice food at a nice resteraunt kid free even though we did have a reservation and a little more than 2 hours in the actual resteraunt. I don’t want to judge them too harshly on the Loooong wait because it was a busy night. I think I will try to go back again on a regular night and see how it goes. The food was good…..cold but good. It probably would have been better fresh. The cappuccino was good.

We are picky customers. We weren’t sure we’d have the best experience at this place being it is currently rated 4.2. Usually we seek 4.5 restaurants or higher. But alas, we are staying at the hotel and after a day of sun, we were wanting something convenient so we decided to give Rusty’s Bistro a try. Wow! So glad we did! From the moment we stepped in the pretty blonde hostess welcomed us with a warm smile and got us seated promptly. The gentleman serving our table was outstanding. Very knowledgeable on the menu and helped us make the right selections. I had the seared scallops, hubby got the rib eye. Kids ordered cheeseburgers and grilled steak kabobs off kids menu. The food was perfect! Every bite mouth watering delicious! We decided to get desserts as well, and they didn’t disappoint either. Giving this place five stars! Ambiance, service; food, wine and drinks! All amazing!! You won’t regret eating here.

Dinner tonight was fabulous! We were surprised there was not a wait for this place! The food was so fresh- unique flavors, large portions, and wonderful presentation. Our server, Randy, rocked! He was super knowledgeable, friendly, and accommodating. Jamie, the maître d’, ensured everyone was taken care of- staff and customers. All around fantastic experience and the highlight of our stay in Sand Key. Everything was delicious, but I cannot say enough about the delectable crab cakes, spring salad, and pasta pappardelle (tender pasta with blue crab, scallops, and shrimp- so good!).

We just celebrated my mother-in-law 86th. Birthday in this gorgeous Bistro. The food was absolutely amazing!!!. Everything in it, may I say. First we tried some of the starters. We recommend the Calamari Piccata and the Caramelized Trumpet Mushrooms. Then, after making those disappear, we went ahead with the main course entrees. Seared Scallops for the wifey, the Crab stuffed Gulf Grouper with a to die for Mediterranean Risotto for mom-in-law, and the pan seared Bone-in Veal Chop for yours truly. None of them let us down. That was a superb experience all of it’s own. All cooked and seasoned to perfection, including the sides. Desserts, we tried the Limoncello cake and the Expresso Crème Brûlée. Absolutely incredible…!!! Kudos to the Chefs.
Service was done with care, kindness, politeness and excess of professionalism. Maria and Walter were simply the best.
Atmosphere was nice, calm and very pleasant.
We will be back for more!!!

Rusty’s is the fine dining restaurant in the Sheraton at Clearwater Beach. We went here the first night of our three night stay, mostly because we were too tired from traveling to leave the hotel, but we weren’t disappointed.
First the gripes. Our waiter was NOT masked which made us uncomfortable. Also, we called several times from the room to see if they had a table but they didn’t answer the phone. When we went in person, despite seeming completely empty they said they couldn’t seat us for an hour. Back to the room to wait. Not a huge deal, really, but could have been better. Lastly, I wish there had been more originality on the menu, but my survey of menus in this area suggests that is not what people come here for.
We ordered the fried olives, the rock shrimp bisque, the seared sea scallops with lime aioli, and the filet and crab cake. All of the food, including the complimentary bread basket, was excellent. The dessert menu was enticing (let lime creme brulee!) but we opted to skip dessert.
The olives were the curiosity. Green olives stuffed with beef, battered and fried, with a wedge of grilled lemon. They were kind of like fried pickles at other southern cooking places. They were crispy and the breading didn’t fall off. They were good but I wouldn’t make a special trip just for them.
The bisque was creamy and complex and the sweetness of the sherry came through. There were several large chunks of shrimp that were cooked perfectly. The portion was perfect for two to share as an appetizer without filing you up too much. If you’re going to do a seafood bisque, you should do it well, and they did.
The seared scallops were large, plump, and perfectly cooked. The lime aioli was an excellent pairing and the capers in the sauce provided just enough bite to ba a good accent. The grilled cauliflower was a nice complement.
The filet was small (4 oz) but perfectly medium rare with a crusty exterior. The crab cake was small but very tasty and they didn’t stretch it with too much bread crumb filling. The grilled asparagus was really very good. I could have had a plate of just that, and the mashed potatoes were smooth and creamy. If you’re a big eater this might not fill you up but it was a perfect portion size for me.
The ambiance was nice. Not too dark and not noisy at all. Enough space between tables to feel comfortably socially distanced.
In summary, my only real complaint was the lack of originality. They served standard fine dining fare and did it well. We enjoyed our dinner and given what we had, the prices were very reasonable.

We had our breakfast here, the first day, there’s a piece of plastic inside of the cooked egg cup, the 2nd day, there’s a gnat in the cooked oak meal. The food is ok. Need more quality control.
