The Best Home Style Tacos in the Bay Area
Quiote is a true culinary standout, especially if you are searching for authentic Mexican flavors. I was completely blown away by their home style tacos. They boast such a great, rich, and authentic taste that I can confidently rank them as one of the best tacos I have had in the entire Bay Area. The attention to quality ingredients and traditional preparation really shines through in the depth of flavor.

Commitment to Authentic Quality
The restaurant’s focus on serving genuine Mexican cuisine is evident across their menu. Reviews often praise their use of quality ingredients, and the results speak for themselves—the food is consistently fresh and bursting with flavor. The overall dedication to authenticity makes the dining experience truly special.

Overall Impression
This place is a five-star winner and a must-visit destination for any Mexican food enthusiast. The spectacular quality of the food, particularly the unforgettable home style tacos, makes Quiote an essential Bay Area spot. I highly recommend it for a truly authentic and delicious meal!

I was visiting Petaluma recently and ended up having two meals at Quiote in two days-it’s that good. I got a quesadilla with the enchilada veggies inside and it absolutely blew me away. I’ve never had cashews or raisins in a quesadilla before and was skeptical but it was so so good. They know how to cook vegetarian food!!! I also got a side of pinto beans that were incredible. I even ate the broth! On my next visit, I had the potato flautas and those were very good as well. The sauce was a little spicy for me but tasted amazing. I couldn’t stop talking about this restaurant and it’ll be a must every time I return to the north Bay. I don’t think I’ve ever had better Mexican food and that’s saying a lot! The rest of my family loved their food as well. Highly highly recommend checking it out!

Most dishes are from the region Jalisco, Mexico. I’m not familiar with that region but the flavors were more subtle and complex than the typical Mexican tacos I’ve had.

The chicken flautas is excellent. I liked the shrimp taco and al pastor. The pescado was my least favorite – it lacked texture.

Stopped in for lunch with my husband and we were really impressed! The food was incredible, everything was so fresh and flavorful. I had the mushroom taco and the Barbacoa taco, and both were amazing. My husband got the pork sandwich and loved it. The tortillas were fresh and clearly made in-house, which made a big difference. And the chocoflan? Absolutely worth coming back for. Service was excellent and quick too. Can’t wait to return! Thank you, Gloria and Sandra.

Hands down one of the best enchiladas I’ve had. The flavours are very unique and go really well together, the mole sauce is to die for, with a delightful blend of sweet and spicy. Very relaxed atmosphere, we were done with our meal in 30 min from entering the restaurant, it was that efficient and smooth.

The food here is delicious, the mole is very good . The atmosphere is bright and packed, not relaxing. This place could use a larger space and a little separation (to not hear the screaming kid seated 3’ away). No Latin/Mexican music ‍♂️.
Great food, kind of lame atmosphere.

Delicious food and lovely service! First time having a tostada de lomo(pork) but the flavors were delicious and the cheese is absolutely perfect. I got one taco al pastor and one carne asada and while they both had great flavors, I recommend the carne asada most. The guacamole was good too, and I actually used some in my tacos. The red sauce is the spiciest with a phenomenal flavor to it. Overall I enjoyed the ambiance and the meal. The most expensive thing was the guacamole but I think it’s worth it if you share with at least one other person.
