The last of the Mohicans. One of the few mom and pop type grocery stores in the area. Thier freshness and quality? It all depends on what you’re looking for. I personally wouldn’t touch anything inside those isles or the fridge by the entrance. The meat? Looks fishy at times. But my child devours thier on site, premade pasta dishes from the fridge in back. I personally can’t attest to any of the others. But my child seems to love those and hasn’t gotten sick from eating them

My family has been going to Battaglia’s for years. The store is clean and has a nice selection of Italian products and other items as well. Their hot food is delicious and has a great selection. I got a turkey burger and it was excellent! A neighborhood staple.

Excellent quality meats & poultry. They make their own sausages chicken and pork. Quite a lot of variety for a smallish grocery w/friendly, knowledgeable staff who will be more than happy to help. Used their catering services a number of times as well, delicious & well priced. A wonderful staple in our neighbirhood!

Battaglia’s Market puts on an awesome BBQ! We have used Battaglia’s Market for three years in a row for our Woodlawn Cemetery employee picnic and every year the employees rave about the food and the service. It’s a big spread we put on for about 75 people and Battaglia’s team does an outstanding job of getting a lot of food served fast so the food is still hot. Their team provides outstanding service and the food is delicious. If you want catering or a BBQ done right so your quests will be impressed, call Dave at Battaglia’s Market. Great little Italian style market with whatever you need to prepare breakfast, lunch or dinner. Convenient and pleasant, never too long of a line and some great Ready made food for nights you just aren’t feeling it. An awesome deli counter. For a month I lived off these sandwiches for a month when I had to train out in Brooklyn. Definitely highly recommended by me for what that’s worth. I attest to the great old fashioned atmosphere, Mom & Pop style. Hope my opinion helps you out. Enjoy!

I usually get a sandwich and a soda, so I can’t fully get into it. The sandwiches are great. Fully stuffed. Hot foods are great. No salt or pepper, but what would you expect. Beats going to an Arabic deli. Worth the price. The only thing that I can say that rubbed me the wrong way is the cashiers, like their doing me the favor. They did not make me feel like I should be there, I’m not white, so you do the math.

I’m so happy to have discovered this place. Its got a very Arthur Ave. Little Italy vibe going on but BETTER. Their sandwiches and hot food are and reasonably priced. Their fresh breads are also good as are their sweet fennel sausages. A must try!
