Stopped by on road trip to WVA from Northern VA. Supercharger in Lexington so this was walkable from there.
Sam’s Hot Dog stand in Lexington is right next to 7 Eleven, and it’s good deal for around $3 per dog.
Got 3-dog with soda combo deal for $10 and then I was hungry after 1 dog, so I got another one for $3. Apple Pay is accepted.
I got Hot Dog with all condiments except mayo, spicy chili which isn’t really spicy at all. Maybe spicy for white folks, who knows. All in all it was pretty good, for quality and quantity I’d say worth it.

Best damn hotdogs between Boones Mill and here. The spicy chili makes it perfect. Great hotdogs are a rarity, and I found them here.

We loved the hot dogs. The chili and slaw were perfect. I can’t wait to try the pull pork. Friendly service, great price and a drive thru to boot! Great job ladies we will be back when we come to Lexington!

We saw a sign from the highway and had to stop. Glad we did! Cheap and delicious! We got the two dogs combo and pork BBQ combo. Everyone was super friendly. If you get the chance, it’s a must stop.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE. I am so glad that a Shenandoah Valley staple has now came to Rockbridge County! The addition of the drive through is amazing and so convenient! The hot dogs are great with a variety of toppings. I also recommend you try the pulled pork with coleslaw! Definitely one of my favorites!! The wait staff is amazing and you are always greeted with a smile!

The 7-11 here is a regular stop on my interstate travels. There is nothing fancy about Sam’s- it is genuine, simple, low cost and homey; and that is its genius. It has the hotdogs and delicious chili that takes me back to little league baseball games, church picnics, and yummy hot dogs mom would boil and serve up when I was a picky eater as a child. Elena and Becky are two lovely ladies whose charm wooed me out of the Subway line to try a dog. And boy was I glad I did! I loved it so much as ate at the pump, that I walked in and got 3 more for me and the family. I’m gonna make Sam’s a regular treat everytime.

Great hot dogs, been there multiple times!! The chili is homemade as well as the coleslaw and both taste delicious!! Customer service is outstanding!! Go and support a local business!! And they have a new drive-thru!!

Meh. I wasn’t impressed by this offering.
Food: Poor
For a business who’s entire identity is hotdogs you’d expect either the quality to be excellent, or for there to be some unique spin on the concept. This location does neither. The hotdogs seem to be batched cooked, instead of made to order. The buns are lower quality than even Great Value hot dog buns, and the topping selection is poor.
Value: Awful
This location costs more than double competing offerings from places like Sheetz. For reference two hot dogs with mustard and relish as well as a fountain drink costs ~$3.50 at Sheetz compared to ~$8.00 at Sam’s Hot Dogs (both approximations include tax)
Service: Excellent
The staff were incredibly friendly
