Solid Mongolian BBQ Option in Fairfield–Suisun
I stopped by Fire Wok Mongolian BBQ on a Monday for lunch. There was plenty of seating and it wasn’t too busy. Since it’s right outside Travis Air Force Base, most of the lunch crowd was military, which gave it a steady but relaxed vibe.
I love Mongolian BBQ, and this is one of the few spots offering it in the Fairfield–Suisun area. I was greeted right when I walked in and asked if I had been there before in case I needed help, which I appreciated. I’ve worked at a Mongolian BBQ place before, so I was already familiar with the process and went straight to building my plate.
One thing I noticed was that lamb wasn’t available during lunch. I saw a note mentioning lamb is available after 3 PM for an extra charge. There’s another Mongolian spot in Suisun that offers lamb at lunch with no extra charge, so that was a small downside for me.
That said, the ingredients were fresh, the food tasted good, and overall it hit the spot. The space could use a bit of an uplift or refresh, but it was clean and functional.
Overall, a good lunch option if you’re craving Mongolian BBQ in the area. I’d come back again—especially later in the day if lamb is available.
Simple fresh veggies and the meat looks fresh you paying for quality
The meat tasted like it had just been defrosted, with that watery, rubbery texture that tells you it was frozen and rushed straight to the wok. The vegetables were limp, soggy, and clearly not fresh, nothing crisp, nothing vibrant, just sad leftovers pretending to be stir-fry.
To make it worse, the to-go dinner costs $17.95, which is already overpriced for food of this quality. Then came the real insult: because my meal didn’t fit into one box, they charged me an extra $12 for what was essentially half a box. No warning, no explanation, just a blatant cash grab.
So let me get this straight, nearly $30 for frozen meat, wilted veggies, and attitude? Absolutely not.
Horrid food. Horrid service. Zero value.
Do yourself a favor and do not eat here. There are far better options in Fairfield that won’t overcharge you for leftovers-quality food.
⭐ 0/5 — would not return.
The Mongolian BBQ options were fresh and flavorful. They kept everything well-stocked, and the cooks moved efficiently while still delivering quality. The experience felt smooth from start to finish.
The space isn’t huge but was well-managed. There’s parking in front and overflow on the side. Prices are fair for the all-you-can-eat setup, and the experience makes it worth it.
As a longtime process improvement and systems thinker, I value places that care about both the product and the customer journey. Fire Wok gets it right. If you’re in the area—especially near Travis AFB—this is a reliable option. I write reviews to guide good decisions and highlight businesses that deliver real value. Follow along if that matters to you too.
I’ve had a lot of BBQ places around California, and this is to this day my most favorite.
