Love the BBQ pull pork sandwich + potato salad + drink (meal deal $20). They were nice enough to “split” the sandwich and sides for me to share with a colleague. Quick service. Pricey, but sharing with a colleague softened the high cost of lunch.

Taylor and John,
thank you guys for a fantastic lunch.
To put it simply….
Wow.
Outstanding job.
My wife and I are from Tallahassee, Florida and are in town seeing all the sights for a few more days.
Lunch today was my choice and you knocked it out of the park.
Amazing brisket sandwich and hot link.
The chili was hands down the best I’ve ever had.
But the cornbread.
My wife’s cornbread disappears in an instant when she makes it.
She took one bite of your and stopped, smiled and turned to me and swore it was better than hers.
I had a bite and agreed.
We both were amazed.
You’ve been in business since ’89 and we know why.
Here’s another round of applause from us to you.

Thank you.

I work close by and I’m always on the lookout for new places to try. BBQ isn’t well represented downtown so I was happy to find this place close by. Really nice restaurant in pioneer square with a nice selection of meats, sides and different platters. Prices aren’t too crazy but this is still some expensive BBQ (normal in Seattle). I will definitely return!

Had high hopes for this spot, but left disappointed. The brisket and chicken were completely flavorless — it felt like all the seasoning was left to the BBQ sauce. The spicy links were the only thing with any real flavor, but even those weren’t enough to carry the meal. Even the cornbread couldn’t make me like the food more. If this is what barbecue is supposed to taste like, then I guess I’m a hater.

On the positive side, the service was excellent. The two gentlemen working clearly enjoy their jobs and made the experience pleasant in that regard. Unfortunately, the meat itself just missed the mark, which is hard to overlook at a BBQ restaurant.

I reached out with a few questions to the email address listed on the website and got a answer back pretty quickly from Diane (Owner) I have never been to Seattle but love to try BBQ when I travel as I lived in Texas for multiple years. I was concerned about their hours (Mon-Fri 11am-2:30PM) I was hoping to be able to try their bbq but also like to purchase sauce from different places to try. Diane offered to leave the sauce with a neighboring business for me or even ship it to me if I could not make it by during business hours. I ended up changing my days of my trip so I was able to enjoy lunch here. After I ordered the cook asked me if I was Kevin and I said yes and he said you have been exchanging emails with my wife Diane about sauce and thanked me for coming in. I purchased 2 mild sauce, 1 spicy sauce and 1 ghost pepper sauce. They did not have ay ghost pepper made up but he asked me if I wanted him to make me one up and I said sure if you are not too busy and have time.

I had a brisket sandwich and baked beans. The brisket was good it was sliced but I do prefer chopped. the sauce was amazing along with beans. I wish they had mac and cheese as that is my go to for a side at bbq.

I wanted to try the spicy sausage but was so full I did not and I planned to go back on Monday to try the Monday special which was meatloaf but did not make it back by there.

I do not remember how much I spent but it must have been very reasonable since I was wanting to go back.

Overall hands down I love supporting small mom and pop shop places and this place went out of their way to provide great customer service and options!

Diane-Sorry about your Mariners getting swept by my Dodgers but thank you again for the great customer service!

5th gen Texan here. I have smoked more briskets, sausage, and ribs than I can count (on offset and pellet).

First, like others have mentioned, the sauce does the talking here. Without asking, the food comes heavily sauced.

The meat is extremely tender, but I am not sure how it is being cooked because it lacks some of the characteristics I would expect when achieving that level of tenderness from exclusively smoking (e.g., deep smoke ring, bark buildup, salt penetration, consistently rendered fat).

To me, it looks like potentially a significant portion of the cook is spent in an oven. I certainly could be wrong, it just doesn’t “walk like a duck” to me personally.

Not particularly a bad thing, just isn’t the same result as ~16 hours in a smoker.

Overall, I’d eat it again with the expectation of leaning on the sauce.

I’m originally from North Carolina and have lived on the west coast for 15 years in desperate search of decent BBQ. Hole in the wall is the closest and best I’ve gotten to in all my years. Pulled pork and cornbread were both fantastic. Hot links were great too. No idea about the brisket since pork is the real BBQ but I’m sure it’s great too! They also have mustard for all the random SC people who like that abomination of a BBQ sauce on their sandos.

I absolutely recommend to any desperate southerners looking for good BBQ.

Only recommendation would be to have an eastern NC vinegar based sauce option!

I was working nearby and am always on the lookout for new BBQ spots. It’s a small place so takeout is probably a good option, but there are a few seats inside. The woman who helped me at the counter was friendly and knowledgable. The chicken was a bit on the tough side but nicely shredded and sauce was good. Brisket was just the right amount of tender and smoked flavor. The beans weren’t anything special, just seemed like they were from a can. Overall, it was a nice quick lunch with good food. I feel they would probably be doing more business if not located in such a grimy area of downtown.

Amazing service. Let us in to get out of the cold a couple minutes early, and served us the best BBQ brisket and hot links we’ve ever had in the PNW.

Absolutely amazing service and quality of food.
