We ordered the party boat to go over the weekend, and it was so good that we came back again today. This time, we ordered the Sushi Deluxe.
Since I can’t eat clams, shrimp, squid, or grilled eel, I asked if those pieces could be substituted with other raw fish. The server kindly accommodated my request and even replaced the squid appetizer with seaweed for me.
I honestly didn’t think I could find truly fresh sushi in Indiana. I’ve tried several places before, and they all had a slight to strong fishy smell. However, the sushi here had absolutely no fishy smell at all. I’m very sensitive to that, so if you’re like me, you’ll definitely appreciate the freshness here.
The quality, price, and service were all excellent. Everyone was friendly, and we were very satisfied. We will definitely be coming back!

Amazing sashimi and tempura — highly recommend!
I had a great experience here. The sashimi was extremely fresh, with thick cuts and a clean, buttery texture. You can really taste the quality of the fish — easily some of the best sashimi I’ve had in a long time.
The tempura was also outstanding — perfectly crispy, light, and not greasy at all. Everything came out hot and crunchy, with great flavor and texture.
Overall, the food quality was excellent and the presentation was beautiful. If you’re a fan of Japanese food, especially sashimi and tempura, this place is definitely worth visiting. I’ll be coming back again!

This place is good, but it could definitely be better. The rolls are big and not bad, but none really stood out. The Salmon on Fire was very spicy (I thought it meant it would come with fire ). The place itself is nice and the service was great, but the food could use some improvement

Found this place randomly and decided to give it a try. It was super good! I didn’t expect the side dishes at all so that’s a big surprise. The presentation of the side dishes and main sushi platter were chef’s kiss. AMAZING SERVICE!! I only deduct 1 point from the food part because we found the tiny to be very slightly fishier than normal, but the other pieces were great. Overall, we would definitely come back to try their other menu items!

Excellent spot for both sushi and ramen! The shrimp tempura, tuna, and salmon rolls were fantastic—the fish-to-rice ratio was perfect. Tried deluxe sushi combo and it was great. Each piece of sushi was masterfully cut and portioned to satisfy both the eye and the taste buds. Service was great as well.

Loved this hidden gem it’s on a busy corner and you prob have passed it a thousand times but make the stop bcus the restaurant is so pretty and comfy! And the food is even better great service and somehow kid friendly too. Personal preference Only things: Didn’t care for the bento box D fried veggies – would be better steamed. And the rocky roll also had too much fried fish. However – We Recommend!

Sake Maru has become one of our favorite sushi spots in Indy. The sushi is always fresh and beautifully prepared, and they even fly in fish from Japan on weekends (Friday through Sunday).
The atmosphere is modern and comfortable with great lighting—perfect for date night, lunch with friends, business meals, or dinner with family. The staff is always friendly and welcoming, and they make every visit feel easy and enjoyable.

Sake Maru was amazing, first time there and will be going back often! One of the best sushi restaurants around Indianapolis. The appetizer’s, sashimi, hibachi and fried rice was delicious and the pricing is very fair! They take pride in both quality food and beautiful presentation. The service was welcoming and excellent, the restaurant and bathrooms were was very clean! We had the following – Appetizer’s – Hamachi Jalapeño appetizer and Gyoza – Main Meals – Sashimi Deluxe, Chicken Hibachi and Fried Rice (Chicken, Beef, & Shrimp) along with a bottle of Smith & Hook Cabernet . The main meals came with a salad trio of Seaweed, Tofu & Squid salads along with a bowl of Miso Soup! I can’t wait to come back and try their Poke Bowl!! This restaurant is a must try!

I had the lunch special. 3 rolls for just under 18 dollars. It was very fresh and the pieces weren’t so huge ii couldn’t eat them in one bite. The Philly was especially good not fishy at all. I also got the spicy yellowtail tuna avocado. Its in a strip mall but the interior and decor is very nice and welcoming. Will definitely be back.
