Q HUBO PUES
The decor provided a home feeling to the restaurant, while also having delicious food&drinks
They’re also celebrating a 2 year anniversary there with live music and more! 9/20/25
I recommended: Mondongo, empanadas de pollo y puerco, jugo de maracuya, y buñuelos colombianos

We came here for dinner with a Colombian friend. He helped us figure out what to get because the menu is large. Overall the food was authentic and reminded him of home! The food was good and a good experience. They didn’t mind me practicing my Spanish either! They have a shelf of snacks from Colombia and a projector for soccer games.

New Colombian restaurant in Southeast side. The inside was new and clean with friendly staff. Staff was very attentive and ensured you had everything you wanted. They took the time to go over the menu. The drinks were fresh and delicious, I recommend the Lemondade with Coconut. The food was also great but I recommend to the Staff to not wait long to serve the food to clients because the food was warm by the time we received our order. Price was fair for the drinks, appetizer and entrees.

I recently visited “q HUBO pues” and had a mixed experience. The portions were generous, which is always a plus, but unfortunately, the food itself left much to be desired. The meat, in particular, was heavily over-salted and extremely chewy, making it difficult to enjoy. Despite this, the service was a bright spot—friendly and welcoming, which made the dining experience more pleasant. Overall, while the portion sizes and service were great, the quality of the food needs improvement.

An Unforgettable Culinary Misadventure!!! My quest for an authentic Colombian culinary gem led me to this establishment, but alas, it was a journey that ended in disappointment. The ambiance of the restaurant was that of a plain cafe with cheap chairs and tables. It was very clean and the staff was very friendly, which raised my hopes, only to be dashed by the culinary catastrophe that followed.
I eagerly ordered the Bandeja Paisa, a personal favorite, only to be greeted by a parade of culinary missteps. The arepa, a cornerstone of Colombian cuisine, was a desolate landscape of dryness, utterly devoid of flavor. The pork belly, which should have been a succulent journey of crispness and taste, was instead a tedious chew with not a hint of seasoning. The rice, an undercooked disappointment, partnered with beans that were as flavorless as they were forgettable.
The steak, which I anticipated to be charred and flavorful, was instead an uninspired, boiled shadow of what it could have been. The pork sausage was a tragedy, leaving an unpleasant taste on my palate. Even the egg, which should be hard to get wrong, was overcooked. Finally, the avocado was about the best thing on the plate but wasn’t very good.
In a hopeful attempt to salvage the meal, I sampled each component, but to my dismay, each bite confirmed the initial verdict: this was a dish destined for the trash, not the taste buds. The true tragedy unfolded because I had ordered 2 plates to go for my family and when I got it home, no one liked it so I ended up having to cook something up.
In the realm of Colombian cuisine, this experience was akin to an explorer seeking treasure but finding only fool’s gold. A place that once held promise is now firmly off my list, a stark reminder that even the most welcoming ambiance cannot compensate for a culinary experience that misses the mark so profoundly.
I am always amazed how these places that are not even mediocre have such high star ratings.

I remembered when the restaurant opened it was decent. I would have to drive far for a good Colombian food. The experience today was terrible, the meat empanada had no flavor and the filling was ok but just stew meat….not a typical Colombian empanada. Waiting to get the menu …..nope the girls were busy behind the register chatting. Honestly not the worst service, I have seen worse. I asked for the bandeja paisa with grill flank steak….. only the chorizo and avocado had flavor. Presentation was ok. Everything else just plain with lack of flavor. I couldn’t eat that plate. . I’ve asked why the stew meat? She said it was grilled….not a single grill mark….no need to lie, just saying.

The Guava juice was amazing! It felt so natural and tropical. Definitely recommend to order it. It’s also very big for not an expensive price
The pan de bono was amazing well. Great texture and soft mass that tasted incredible. Totally recommend especially with a cup of juice or hot chocolate.
The bandeja paisa was very disappointing. The chicken was super hard to chew and didn’t have good seasoning. The chicharrón was very hard as well and too much fat. The maduro was great. The egg was great as well. And I ordered a side of tostones which was ridiculous hard as if they bought it frozen and barely heated up. Don’t recommend this.
Lastly they were very nice and gave me a chocolate cake! I was upset because they didn’t have desserts in the DoorDash app but they did and send it as a gift. That was really nice of them
