The food was tasty but overpriced. When describing the specials a heads-up on the price would be nice. $21 for a cheese and dime sized fruit salad?

Long overdue review. Main + Lincoln is a solid, consistent restaurant of choice for us. It’s where we bring out of town guests because we know it will always be great service and delicious food. The menu is fairly small, but there is enough variety to find something for everyone. Hands down best on the menu – Amish Chicken Picatta and Grilled Oysters. I typically don’t like oysters, and their grilled oysters are amazing. Anyone we’ve brought there loves these two dishes as well. Great place to sit at the bar and have a drink and appetizer. One of our favorite places in Valpo.

Went here on a limb, never been here before. Our waiter, Duke, was awesome and attentive. The kitchen was slammed as well as the bar and Duke kept us in the loop. Even though there were waits, Duke communicated with us so we didn’t feel forgotten. The appetizers, entrees, drinks, and service were awesome. We will definitely be come back.

Everything about main and Lincoln is top. Traveling from Chicago this felt like I was still in the city. From the hostess opening the door and knowing exactly who we were for our 7pm reservation, to the waiter being attentive and talkative but not too much, to the food that was delicious. I dream about the tuna and avocado appetizer. The oysters were fresh and delicious. I got the salmon suggested médium by the chef and it had a nice crisp on the outside with Jasmin rice and just a hint of sauce making the perfect combination (a bit too much bok choy). Creme brulee was made by one of the staff and my boyfriend loved it, I’m just not a fan overall. The restaurant is spread out and allows for a quiet dining experience that feels personal. The hostess ran out of roses (it was the day after Valentine’s Day) and she found me one to make my night more special.

Beware. I don’t understand how one can arrive at 6:20 pm, wait until 6:50 to order, and not receive food until 8 pm. ( ok … our bread arrived at 7:50). The restaurant had very few patrons and now I know why!
No one checked on our table. We asked to speak to the manager due to our long wait time. The hostile “manager” arrived and explained their food is fresh… raw chicken and homemade pasta require time to prepare! We were shocked by her rude nature. The wait was completely unacceptable and the “manager” was unwilling to take accountability for our experience. We will not return. As seasoned diners, we were appalled by the lack of customer care.

The food is always delicious here. Never had a bad meal. My fiancée and I usually go for special occasions. Love sitting at the bar and watching the kitchen flow like an orchestra. My favorite restaurant.

We had the pleasure of dining at Main + Lincoln last night for the first time and what an experience!!! We started off with a glass of wine and an old fashioned. Their wine list is phenomenal and covers a variety. Cocktail was made well. We started with a half dozen oysters and one of their specials, the bone marrow. Their bone marrow dish one of the best things we’ve consumed in a long time. Wow! For dinner, we shared their special, scallops and risotto. Amazing! We are still talking about it, which prompted me to write this review.
Our server was friendly and prompt. Everyone working there was actually. The restaurant was clean. Atmosphere was open and friendly and it was not noisy. We were able to have a conversation easily.
Will definitely be back. We’re looking forward to trying the salmon. Or another special.

Decent place to go for a night out downtown. Nothing truly superb about this place, but you are able to get a good meal. Service was fast and friendly, atmosphere is a bit lackluster, and it could use an overhaul of the menu and general “feel” of the place. Just an average restaurant situated in a nice area in downtown Valparaiso.

What an experience!!! My husband and I have never had such amazing food! The sauce on the potatoes was magnificent! The burger was so fresh! We didn’t want to stop eating!
