OMG
The flounder was coated in a beautiful tasty batter and properly fried, my scallops were perfectly seared and served with grilled onions and peppers, but the sides are where they shine. First, they’re served in a bowl I could put my fist in, the slaw was fresh and crisp, with a creamy dressing that was just delightful. My wife’s sides were insane. The collard greens were tender, tasty, and included a piece of pork large enough to qualify as a meal by itself, the yams were mashed, sweet and had enough cinnamon to stock a small bakery for a day. All things taken together I plan to travel back through this area whenever I can just to eat here.
The mac and cheese lacked flavor, the cabbage had a slight sweetness but nothing memorable, and the turkey wing was greasy with dried gravy. I even mentioned to our server that it was my first time dining here, which I hoped would encourage some effort from the kitchen to make a good impression, but that did not happen.
Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant and I personally would not return. Spent $121.23 total and tipped the waiter.
This is our first time dining here since they opened. I had the fried pork chop chop, cabbage red rice and cornbread. They give you much. The portion sizes are plentiful.
My husband had oxtails and by the time he was done there were only bones left.
We will most definitely be back. We even met the cook and thanked him personally.
Eat here everybody. You will not be disappointed.
But those crab legs!!!!
Now I know where to stop off I-95 in South Carolina!!
Oh & my husband enjoyed his fried catfish & scollops & homemade banana pudding.
We both left full & happy!!
New cooks are needed in the kitchen. Frozen over cooked shrimp with no flavor is not good business.
