Massimo is absolutely the server you went helping you out for your dinner experience. Everything we ate was incredible and I want to come back every time we travel to the area. We started with some cocktails like manhattans, mezcal old fashion, and a whiskey sour. Appetizers were raw oysters, oysters Rockefeller, steak tartare, and Spanish meatballs. Somehow we found room for entrees which were fish&chips, scallops and A5 Japanese waygu. The whole experience was phenomenal. Absolutely recommend

What a great experience! My wife and I stopped by for dinner tonight and everything was spot on. We were greeted with smiles and hello’s by every staff member on our way to our lovely booth. The 2 servers couldn’t have done a better job. And to top it off, our meal was delicious!

Fish tacos, bread and butter and the apple martini are all solid choices. Great happy hour, friendly servers and eager bartenders.

Wow! Happy hour made us so happy and amazed! This place is on another level with each dish so delectable. Best crab cake I have ever had, which was a huge portion, full of crabmeat with a crispy outer crust, enough for two to share. Fish tacos had a light thin flour tortilla with the crispest fish which was moist and tender, drizzled with a chipotle aioli. The short rib bao bun melted in your mouth with an abundant portion of beef, braised to perfection. Staff was attentive and friendly, very engaging and knowledgeable. Thank you to Brittany, Rafa and Massimo for your wonderful service! What an experience for our first time here! We are coming back this week for dinner. Back for dinner and the ribeye was cooked to perfection, it’s a baseball cut so no fat. Loved the wild mushroom ravioli too.

Wednesday dinner. Quiet, elegant dining room. White table clothes. Service was excellent from start to finish. It is a bit pricey. Will definitely be back.

I happen to find this place by chance on PCH in Dana Point. ordered the sun kissed scallops and while waiting for my meal, the waiter threw a complementary loaf of bread on my table. Needless to say the meal was amazing but the bread is what made me take my wife back to try. Now anytime we are in Dana Point. We have to stop here! The cuisine is exceptional! Massimo and Austin, and all of the staff make you feel as if you’re at home without having to do the dishes. If you’re lucky enough to make it during happy hour, try the fish tacos! If you want an exceptional seafood meal in Dana Point, I highly recommend this place!

Food was good, with some improvements needed. We were a bit disappointed that bread and butter (usually complimentary at restaurants) was an extra $5 charge. The lobster ravioli was good, but definitely over salted. I enjoyed the big chunks of lobster that came in the center of the dish. The lemon sole was excellent, and a very generous portion. The fish and chips we were told were cod. However, when it came out it was definitely not cod. Probably sole or halibut as it was a much softer fish than cod. The breading on it was light, which was nice. Wagyu burgers were good and pretty standard. You really couldn’t taste a difference with the wagyu meat. The fries were delicious and enjoyed by everyone at the table. For dessert we tried the cookie and cream, cheesecake and butter cake. The cookie was delicious, but it was smashed flat on the dish (intentionally). A thicker cookie where you can enjoy the fudgey-ness of the chocolate cookie would have been better. The butter cake was just ok. It was over baked and dry. Both desserts could have used a bigger scoop of ice cream. The one provided was kind of embarrassingly small. More ice cream would have definitely helped with the dry butter cake. The cheesecake was the best dessert of the 3. Not super dense and rich, but still delicious. Overall, we enjoyed our visit. It was a little hit or miss, but we’d definitely dine here again. Oh, and we were celebrating two anniversaries and aside from a “happy anniversary” from the hostess, our celebration was not acknowledged in any way. So that was a disappointment. Was hoping for something a little more special for my parents who were celebrating their 49th anniversary.

Had a fantastic experience dining at Whitestone. The service was exceptional, the ambiance was great and the food was very good!

We ordered a host of appetizers and entrees, including the calamari, the shrimp, the Grilled octopus, the Chilean Sea Bass, the Grilled Artichoke, and the Hamachi Crudo. The Hamachi Crudo was our favorite, followed by the shrimp, and the octopus.

Both the sea bass and calamari were good but lacked the wow factor (the sea bass wasn’t as soft and wasn’t as flavorful as what we’ve had elsewhere). The grilled artichoke was good but takes a lot of effort to eat. The complimentary bread was fresh and soft and paired perfectly with the butter.

However, the two things that truly stood out were the desserts and the service. The butter cake, cookie and cream, and flourless chocolate cake were all breathtakingly delicious and the service was among the best I’ve had in recent times. All in all, it was a great dining experience and I’d highly recommend this restaurant!
