Pleasant environment, very clean. For the first time in Malta I visit a restaurant with extremely clean toilets. Very good service and delicious food. You should definitely order at least two pieces of breaded/fried ice cream. It is unique!

A very nice dining experience. We were a group of 8 persons (4 adults+4 children) and we had a lovely time.
The set menus are very useful for groups of this size as you get a good variety of food for a good price.
Staff is very friendly and service is quite quick.

Nan Yuan is my absolute favorite restaurant. I have been going there for over 10 years and have never been disappointed! They have a huge menu with lots of dishes including a lot of vegetarian and gluten free options. The good is simply delicious every time! The owners are very nice and friendly and I always leave full and happy! Valletta Waterfront gem!

We came for the set menu on valentines day , been told by numerous people this is the best chinese on the island , please do not believe this . We got there and where seated quickly and drinks orders taken 5 mins after , looking promising for a quick turn around , first plate came out after 20 mins and what a dissapointment, cold soggy deep fried selection , turned a blind eye as its was kind of busy . Then we proceded to wait 1 hour 20 mins for our duck and pancakes to arrive, no body came near us to take drinks orders or apologise for the delays ,and we were ignored multiple times when trying to ask for drinks and where our food was, the duck was also cold . we had asked for the mains to be brought along with the duck as we had already been sitting for nearly 2.5 hours at this point and it didnt happen . We proceeded to wait another hour before mains came . 6 peices of sweet and sour pork , 5 pieces of satay chicken and 4 slices of beef in soy , again cold, shocking portions considering to be split between 2 . Food was tasteless , slimey, chewy and freezing cold , we barely touched it . roll on the next morning and both of us are ill and vomiting … Utterly appaling food and the worst service ive ever experienced , a couple at the table beside us had the same experience , we will not be back ever again and highly recommend you do come and waste your money here ….

Honest and fair review
Positive: Nice location, nice ambient, and atmosphere
Negative: Food is horrible, over priced, unapologetic owner.
The best part is how they pack the food for takeaway by combining both rice and noodles together and claim that this is how local prefer!

Complete disaster. Has changed enormously since last time visited. Food was cold and not worth the money Although we booked at 20:00 the starter came at 21:50. Never again.

I come from London, so I am used to pretty good Chinese restaurants (China Town being easily accessible for me.)

First we entered and although there were at least 5 people working in the restaurant nobody looked at us for five minutes before we could ask for a table. Employees were even walking by us without saying anything. Then it took them 10 minutes to set the table.
Then we wanted to order at one point but again nobody looked at us. We waved at them but nobody wanted to see us so we had to walk up to them to ask if we could order.
The food was good but it took more than half an hour to get the first dish although the restaurant was not full and the coconut chicken soup was yellow and did not smell like coconut at all. But the chef confirmed it was well coconut.
I do not recommend this place. There are way nicer places in the waterfront to discover.

We came here on a Saturday night, the restaurant was busy. So was the server, who could only get our order after over 20 minutes. (Maybe they were understaffed). We then waited over an hour for our food and our starters only came once the mains had already arrived. I chose V7, fried tofu with chili sauce. The tofu was good but the chili sauce it was served with was more like a small amount of dipping sauce and probably store bought. As any other main course, I wanted to eat it with rice but there was no sauce to eat the plain rice with. Speaking of the rice, it had a strange rubber like texture. The sweet and sour chicken was okay but had *raw* onions in it.
The owner was friendly but one of the servers straight up ignored me when I wanted to ask for more sauce.
Overall a really disappointing dining experience. I would not recommend to go here, especially not on a Saturday night.

The food was excellent although the service was very slow. The prices are reasonable and the food is good quality. I ordered vegetable samosas for starters (5.45€) and beef egg noodles as a main course (9.50€). I advise that you make a reservation before you go. They’re generally very busy.
