This is my favorite Chinese restaurant in the area. Hole in the wall, understated, excellent food. Everything is packed full of flavor and comes out piping hot. My favorite is the hot and sour soup (my go to order at Chinese restaurants and they do it VERY well). I come here as often as I can.

Absolutely atrocious. We ordered sweet and sour chicken and pepper steak. The sweet and sour chicken came with 12 soggy lumps of chicken and enough sauce to fill the Saginaw river. The rice was bland and you could tell it had been frozen. The pepper steak (emphasis on the pepper) was quite literally just peppers and maybe a few slivers of steak, also drowning in sauce. Yes prices were cheap, but still…not worth it.

worst place to get food. Three pieces of chicken in this whole plate. Didn’t even try it. Absolute slop.

This place is takeout and drive-through only now. Doors are locked, so only pickup via the drive-through window.
Food was okay. Ordered the Chicken Subgum lunch, which ended up to be mostly celery. Maybe 50g of chicken was included. The egg drop soup was good, though didn’t include wonton chips. The egg roll was all veg and was fine. A bit disappointing for $13. Also, the check suggests adding a tip, which seems like an artifact from when it was an eat-in establishment.

I’ve eaten here for many years & normally love their food. This time, something was off, way off. My wonton soup was great but my fried rice was burned & the egg rolls tasted old & greasy. I normally LOVE their egg rolls so much I’ll eat 3. This time I didn’t finish the one & I threw out my entire order of fried rice. I’m not sure if I’ll go back. We had been there 2 weeks before this & it was great, like usual. Is there new cook maybe? Not sure, but I don’t like this change.

It’s not dine in but every time I call there polite and I always have what I want explained. There very nice. Food is always great. I always went on the West side. Wish they’d open back up over there. On my side of town.

I have literally been going to Stars my entire life for Chinese. The Westside spot was where my addiction and dedication to the family started. As an adult, I moved to the east side and haven’t stopped. The food has been consistent for the past 30+ years. The same lady that answers the phone and drive through window has been doing this my entire life. I adore her! Anyway, STARS is great for a delightful Chinese meal that’s always ready in 15 minutes!
