We specialize in matcha, stone-ground fresh weekly on-site from the highest quality Tencha leaves grown in Wazuka, Kyoto, Japan. Alongside matcha, we offer a beautiful pottery and authentic japaneeze hand made matcha whisks. We proudly carry rare selection of other Japanese matcha teas like Sancha, Genmaicha, Wakocha, and Tencha. Our matcha is ceremonial grade, Grown by master tea farmers for generations, the 800 years old village is the first place matcha was cultivated in Japan…Hand picked once a year in the spring, slowly stone milled fresh on KauaI every week.We are honored to be able to share with you the best matcha experience.

Absolutely wonderful place and the owner was so sweet and hospitable! You can stop in and take a matcha to-go or sit down and enjoy a cup or full tasting of about 6-7 different varieties. We decided on the tasting and it was incredible! Definitely returning to try their coconut matcha which is made with fresh coconut water. Highly recommend!

Experience an authentic Japanese Urasenke tea ceremony without having to leave the USA. A perfect way to spend a bit of time on your vacation. Ask for a tea ceremony, take a few photos, and then for the rest of the ceremony put your phone away to enjoy matcha as it was meant to be. For those short on time she also can make matcha to go. For matcha with Hawaiian flair get the one with coconut milk. Each cultivar has its own unique attributes so you’ll have to come back to taste each. If you are familiar with Japanese Green tea I highly recommend trying the Zairai cultivar.

Sayuri is a wonderful host for all your matcha and tea ceremony needs! We went three times over 7 days – first for a matcha, then for a tasting, then for a tea ceremony. Sayuri was wonderful as both a knowledgeable matcha guide, explaining the ins and outs of matcha tasting and the different varieties, and a host – having us back multiple times and tailoring our experience based on our love for tea. The matcha is delicious and the experience even better. We will be back someday!

Mahalo Nui Loa to Sa-U-Di for welcoming visitors & the Kauai community to her Japanese Tea House… The setting is warm and cozy , she’s super kind & pleasant, uses authentic stone grinding for tea leaves, the brews have you feeling fresh and alive, full of vitality. Does not take long for get tea, definitely worth the 15 minute break from ya busy day.

Stopped here on our first day of our trip to Kauai. We decided to do the tea ceremony and it was awesome! We got to learn a lot about matcha and Japanese culture. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a cultural experience away from the typical tourist traps. The owner is super sweet and knowledgeable.
