If you’re looking for authentic Salvadoran food made with heart, love, and tradition, PUPUSA 503 Salvadoran Kitchen is a place you absolutely need to visit.

267 N Cannon Blvd, Kannapolis, NC

From the moment the food arrived at the table, you could tell this was the kind of cooking that comes from family recipes and real passion for sharing culture.

The pupusas were phenomenal — perfectly golden on the outside and generously filled with melty cheese and savory goodness inside. Paired with the fresh curtido and flavorful salsa, every bite was comforting, warm, and incredibly satisfying.

The fried pork with yuca was another standout. The pork was crispy, juicy, and packed with flavor, while the yuca was perfectly fried and soft inside. The fresh cabbage slaw and house sauce tied everything together beautifully with a refreshing balance.

And the sopa de res… wow. A hearty bowl full of tender beef, corn, carrots, zucchini, and herbs in a rich broth that tastes like it’s been simmering with care for hours. The rice and fresh toppings on the side make it a complete, comforting meal that feels like something a Salvadoran grandmother would proudly serve at home.

What makes this place special isn’t just the food — it’s the feeling. You can taste the love, the tradition, and the pride in every dish.

If you’re anywhere near Kannapolis, do yourself a favor and swing by PUPUSA 503 Salvadoran Kitchen. Bring family, bring friends, and come hungry. Places like this deserve to be celebrated and supported.

You’ll leave full, happy, and already planning your next visit.

Soo good! Must try. My pupusa was super fresh and cheesy. My only regret is not ordering out of the case because everyone food looked delicious. Love my strawberry tres leches. The place is impeccable with lots of indoor and outdoor seating

Fantastic, authentic, piping-hot papusas!! We asked for ours with garlic (yes, on all of them!) and they were delicious. We are vegetarian and they had enough vegetarian options to make us happy. The yuca fries were crispy outside, and soft and creamy inside, just perfect.

The staff was super friendly and the restaurant itself is clean, open and airy. Can’t wait to go back!

So delicious. My husband ordered one of the breakfast dishes. I ordered pupusas–chicken, loroco, and chicharron. We enjoyed every bite. I also ordered coffee and he ordered horchata. Just a caveat–Salvadorian horchata isn’t the same as horchata from a Mexican restaurant. It has a nutty flavor. Still good, just don’t order it expecting the other.

5/5 stars! Amazing, authentic, Salvadorian cuisine. Christian family owned and operated. Not to mention the cleanliness, friendliness and delicious food. We even took home a bag of imported ground coffee.

I’ve passed by this place since they’ve opened, but I’ve never stopped in. I decided to stop in tonight and wow I was surprised. The atmosphere in there was just so awesome and everybody in there was friendly and willing to help. we decided to try the pupusa. It was extremely good. I’ve never had anything like that. Really glad I stopped by. I will be going back to try some of the other dishes.

Not sure where to even start on the review. I would give more stars if I could. My partner and I finally stopped in and picked up some food to go so we could head home and watch football, otherwise we would have eaten there. The customer service is excellent. When I looked at the menu I couldn’t decide what I wanted because it all sounded so good, I wanted to try everything. I landed on cheese and garlic papusas (comes with pickled cabbage mix and a tomato dipping sauce) and the salmon which came with veggies, rice, beans, and their homemade tortillas. It was PLENTY of food and everything was fresh and so good. We’ll definitely be back. I was actually hoping they would be open this morning as I’m regretting not getting their quesadilla which says it’s best served with coffee. I asked what it’s made with and the ingredients are gluten free so their menu is great for me. I’m really excited to continue trying their dishes here!
