Boyfriend had 3 tacos carna asada with rice and beans.
Delicious. We will return. again to try mire
This place is family owned and ran, and the 2 ladies that helped us were super friendly! The wife really loves breakfast burritos, but was bummed when she noticed that it was already noon, the cashier said they could make her one if she wanted. +1 star for offering to do that, a lot of places are hardliners when it comes to the times that they offer items.
When it comes to a new place, I like to get a lot more than I normally would. I like to see what the place is all about, and think its really the only way to give a good review and tacos are my jam so its a win win. I got a queso birria taco w/consome, a crispy grilled chiken taco, and then 3 street tacos TJ style (carne asada, al pastore, and carnitas). Wife noticed they offer flour tortilla chips (not a lot of places do that) so we had to get a order, and they also had empanadas (another rare item)
Before all our food was done, she brought out the chips with chunky green salsa. WOW the flour chips are good, and the salsa was bomb, it was so good I went and ordered a 8oz cup to take home to use later on other things. The rest of the food came out and we went to the car to try it all out.
First to the breakfast burrito, my wife was ecstatic that they used actual potatoes instead of french fries (she hates it when they use fries), the tortilla that that awesome almost translucent look that they get when they are steamed, it makes them super tender and gooey, like those old school bean burritos you would get in high school.
Now its my turn. I started with the street tacos, I tried the salsas that they came with and they were tasty, and had a decent amount of heat to them, but that chunky green salsa was much better so I put it on all 3 tacos. The tortillas on all 3 tacos tasted cooked, and not just warmed up, it really does make a difference on how the tacos will taste! The carne asada had a good flavor, it could of used a little more onions on it but was decent, the al pastor was also pretty good, and the cinnamon flavor really stood out, I didn’t notice any pineapple under the guacamole and said if it was there it would of made it a better taco. Its 3rd taco time, the carnitas were chunky, juicy and good, overall it was the best of the 3.
And here is why I get so many tacos, the 4th taco was the grilled chicken crispy taco. This one was not as good, as the street tacos. the shell and chicken just fell flat, it wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t great either. If I had only gotten this taco, it would be a crime to rate this place on that alone. And to be honest, I didn’t finish it. Street taco places, usually offer crispy tacos to appease customers who don’t know any better, but there is definitely room for improvement in this area. The tortilla should be freshly fried and then stuffed IMO. So glad I saved the queso birria taco for last, that thing was DELICIOUS!!!!!!! I will be getting some more of those next time, almost perfection, the consume had a great flavor and had a little spice to it, perfect on a cold rainy day. I would order a bowl of it with the meat if it was offered.
When we opened up the empanadas, they were like none that we have ever seen before. It actually took me a couple of seconds to register what I was looking at, they looked a chalupa or a Indian taco folded up. But they looked and smelled really good. They had a chicken, vegetable, cheese filling and covered in crumbled mexican cheese with guacamole on the top. They were messy, gooey, and delicious! The for sure needed to be spiced up with the salsas but they were exactly how my wife described them. “Comfort food!”
We are 100% going to be back, as there were a few things that we want to try. like the nachos with the mixed corn/flour chips.
I recently catered a business lunch from Martin’s Famous Tacos, and it was a total hit. The food was not only delicious but also affordable, which is a rare combo these days. From the first bite, you could tell everything was made with care and flavor in mind.
The staff was incredibly kind and helpful — they went above and beyond to accommodate special requests on short notice, which made the whole experience smooth and stress-free. We ended up with generous portions and plenty of leftovers, and everyone was excited to take some home!
Multiple people at the lunch echoed my thoughts: this is hands-down the best Mexican food around. Whether you’re planning a casual meal or a catered event, Martin’s is a gem worth supporting.
Visited on a weekday during lunch hours. Somewhat busy.
I ordered four tacos (on corn tortillas) – Carne Asada, Carnitas, Al Pastor, and Chorizo. Costed a little over $14.
First impressions upon receiving the tacos – they looked very “meh.” That’s the best way I could describe them. Having tried four different meats – in terms of taste, they were pretty indistinguishable… And unless I was supposed to ask for it, no complimentary chips and salsa!
The atmosphere was nice – modern decor, Spanish music playing in the background. The service was nice and quick.
Unless I arrived on an off day, I don’t think it was worth the visit. I seriously believe the ratings on this place are overblown.
Would I come again if I was craving Mexican food?
Probably not.
3 out of 5 Tacos.
