The food was honestly really good, but I just can’t get past the fact that the lettuce wraps were clearly served with lettuce that hadn’t been washed. The leaves were covered in dirt and had grit all over them. It’s pretty concerning to bite into something and feel dirt from unwashed produce. If something as basic as the lettuce used for wraps isn’t being properly cleaned before being served, it really makes you wonder what else might not be getting properly washed or handled in the kitchen. Unfortunately, that completely took away from what otherwise could have been a great experience.

Excellent. Small, family-run restaurant. Plenty of traditional dishes from which to choose. Vegan options. Very generous portions. Choose your own level of heat. We’ve tried a number of their items. Never disappointed. Photos are of Pad Thai w/ tofu and Lo Mein w/ chicken.
Currently serve Pepsi.

I stopped by today to get a late lunch. First time here as I just moved here from Naples Florida. I was hungry for Caramelized Mongolian Beef so I ordered it with fried rice and Wonton Soup. Whatever I got, it definitely wasn’t Caramelized. It was in a thin sauce which I’m used to it being sticky thick Caramelized sauce on a bed of fried rice. The thin sauce took away the taste but I think it was just stir fried beef and not really Caramelized and this was the reason why I ordered it to begin with so I was very disappointed and ending up throwing 90% of it in the trash. The Wonton Soup was just very average also and had a vegetable soup taste instead of a chicken broth taste. The fried rice was good and that’s what I mainly ate out of my $26 meal. I ended up throwing the soup away also. I’ve had better Wonton soup out of a can. So I’m searching for a local Chinese Food place close to Prosper that is awesome. Any comments in that direction would be appreciated.

Was looking for Chinese to eat on a Friday and decided to give this place a try. When I walked it, it was VERY clean! It is small but doable if you want to eat in. I ordered crab wonton and shrimp fried rice. It was very good. The only reason I have one star is because there was a piece of chicken in my rice and I don’t eat chicken. I only eat seafood. Other than that I will def be back to order different items on the menu. They have a vegan menu which is a plus for me.

Absolutely fantastic! The Chinese Neighbor was a last-minute stop during our home tour in Prosper, and we couldn’t be happier with our choice. From the outside, it might be deceiving, but the culinary magic happening in this kitchen is incredible. The chicken was so tender you could cut it with a fork. The fried shrimp was fluffy and perfectly golden brown, and the Mongolian beef was exceptionally savory. The shrimp fried rice was spot-on. We snapped some photos of the food, and believe me, they taste as amazing as they look. Highly recommend!

I ordered orange chicken for my son and I and it is by far the worst orange chicken I have ever had in my life. Not sweet at all.
Food was portioned ok but this was really really bad. As a first time customer I called to ask if this was even the right order. After confirming it was I expressed how disappointed I was with the food. The guy on the phone was polite but please do yourself a favor and try something else. This was a horrible experience.

Absolutely enjoyed the food. The tofu was well cooked, best eaten fresh as it has a crispy outside.
Chicken lo mein was delicious.
Umami fries were crispy and well seasoned.
Sunomono salad (cucumber) was crispy with a tasty dressing.
We also got crab wontons (or rangoons) and spring rolls.
Overall the food was delicious. Growing up, we had a neighbor who was Hong Kong and eating here reminded me of the flavors from 30 or so years ago. It was a good experience. The seats were comfy so that was a plus. Definitely a casual restaurant.

Chinese Neighbor is one of our favorite dining spots. We are regular, dine in and take out. My teens and I just love every food there, but mostly we stick with the featured dishes on the menu. So many favorites I can’t list all. Besides the traditional Chinese dishes, they also offer some popular Southeast Asian and American dishes. The plate portion is quite large, veggies and meats are fresh, quality is trustable, definitely worth the price you pay. The interior of the restaurant is clean, I like the pretty lighting fixtures and comfortable temperature. Lunch time during a hot summer weekday isn’t crazy busy, you can enjoy a relaxed break time.
Today we ordered our favorites: Pad Thai, Flaming Hot Wontons, Coconut Shrimp, Cheese Burger Egg Rolls. Big plates so we can share the food. kids and I are so satisfied, once again! I strongly recommend this place!
