The wife and I drove 1 1/2 hours to get there just to try the food and I have to say the time was not wasted. The food was full of so much flavor and cooked perfectly our drinks never got below half full and the waitresses were quick to check on us and make sure we had everything we wanted or needed. Best food in a while. If you ever have the time I plead to check this place out you will not be disappointed. Family friendly and a very warm atmosphere.

This place is awesome… the food was good (everybody at our table was satisfied). I ordered the 3 piece fish plate with baked beans. My fish was delicious and definitely worth the price. They bring you a bread loaf to your table, with strawberry butter… which was very delicious. Everything was great, the staff were super friendly and the atmosphere felt like being among friends. I am looking forward to my next visit and I’d definitely recommend it.

Took a very dear friend here today, that had never been here. The food was awesome, as it always has been. We both got fish, and it was delicious. The server took excellent care of us. I can’t wait to go back.

The wait time was a little excessive, but I do completely understand. Inconvenient for those who make a long commute to eat at this place. You have to expect that at any restaurant, but the food made the wait time not worth it. I could tell the oil they used that night was older. Not very fresh and you could taste it on the fried foods. Almost overtook the taste. Someone with me they wouldn’t even eat their plate. I’ve worked in kitchens and can definitely distinguish good and bad bacon. For the restaurant being so busy the bacon was extremely old. In all honesty my stomach actually does hurt. Makes me worry about the hygienic conditions of the restaurant. Needless to say while waiting I saw multiple cooks come outside to have a smoke break and every man didn’t have a beard net. While having very long beards, considering other negative comments have mentioned having hair in their food. The service was okay. I understand how it can be very busy and very overwhelming for servers, but we asked for more bread and it wasn’t given to us and another comment mentioned that as well. If it costs extra just let us know. I’m sure we would still like the bread. The food came out at different times and they ran out of some things. Wasn’t executed in a professional manner sadly. Made things awkward for the table. Most of my table waited a while for the initial beverage refill which is understandable, but eventually was a letdown. I do enjoy how the restaurant looks and I see why it’s appealing to southerners around here. Unique and definitely gives the family vibe. I have never wrote a negative review it’s never worth it, but I do believe the owner should take their time to read this so they can find ways to improve for the customers. It’s definitely a learning experience owning a business and I am not completely dogging the restaurant, but I definitely wouldn’t eat here again.

Had one of the best meals I’ve had in a while. Got fried banana peppers as an appetizer, Delicious. Then the big pork steak, so tender, didn’t even need a knife. Also had a small loaf of bread that was so fresh and soft. I’m glad I found this place, I will be going back!!!

I can’t believe I haven’t reviewed yet. First off, I am HORRIBLE with names but if you read this review to staff, our usual server will know it’s her. She’s also in all the FB pictures.
I love the food. I have YET to have anything bad. From the ribs to the burger, amazing. The 24oz burger is ridiculous. Their 8oz burger is great. Salads, chicken, BBQ pork, ribs, even the pizzas are the best.
PRO TIP: Order the deep fried banana peppers with the strawberry butter on the side. Dip them. YOU will not be sorry, I promise you. You’re welcome. <3

The fried banana pepper rings were a hit! Who knew?! Ham, White beans, hush puppies, mashed taters were delish! I wished I had gotten my corn on the cob… but it was plentiful portions at a fair price. Great scenery and vibe!

You Gotta Hit This Place Up!
Alright, check it out: I rolled into Lock’s Store/Macye’s Grill not knowing what to expect. But man, was I blown away. Right off the bat, they served up these fried banana peppers that were like a high-five to your taste buds. Light, crispy, and just the right kind of kick to make you think, “Where have you been all my life?”
Then the vinegar slaw – it’s not your grandma’s coleslaw, it’s this zippy, zesty remix that gets your palate dancing. But the real showstopper? The ribeye. This isn’t just a steak; this is a culinary rockstar grilled to a T. It’s like they knew exactly how to coax out that flavor that says, “This is what a steak is supposed to taste like.”
Let’s be real: The place is out of the way, but if you’re the type that’s looking for that ‘heck yes’ meal, this is it. The service is as stellar as the eats – the folks here are all about making your meal memorable. And the vibe? It’s got that ‘everyone’s welcome’ feel.
In all, if you’re on the fence about making the trip, hop off and get in the car. Lock’s Store/Macye’s Grill is the kind of place you’ll leave already planning your next visit. Stellar service, killer atmosphere, and food that’s out of this orbit. Do it.
