The staff here were really welcoming and friendly, which made the experience even better. I ordered a full party platter of sushi and everything was fresh, well-prepared, and tasted great. The portions were solid, and nothing felt rushed or low quality. Overall, a great spot with good food and service I’d definitely come back.

The food and staff are amazing. Kind. Attentive. The location in Chelsea is not filled with charm. It may even look like a hole in the wall location but it is a fantastic place to get good quality sushi. I eat here regularly and have tried several other places in the area but none compare when it comes to the food.

I got the rainbow roll and spicy salmon roll, to-go. Spent less than $15 for what I got and really happy!! Sushi was fresh and the cut was thick, the spicy roll had crunchy bits/tanuki. Hope they can improve the place though. Their lunch deal also looks good.
Highly recommend for to-go.

Ordered the Dynamite Roll and the Black Pepper Tuna Roll.
Second time ordering the Dynamite Roll; I really like the crisp crunch.
Their rolls are also a lot less expensive as compared to other sushi spots nearby. Their Chef’s Special Rolls and Lunch Roll Specials are definitely worth it.
Also, I went out on a limb and in the notes section of my order asked for “a side of Lao Gan Ma chilli oil to mix in with a side of soy sauce”, and they actually included it! Mixing those two sides pictured made for some pretty blissful bites.
All in all, really good.

I work in the area & went during my lunch break around 1pm, so the place was empty. The welcoming wasn’t so warm lol, I still placed an order. I ordered Shrimp tempura. It was Good but the place looks unsanitary. At each table there were bottles of hand sanitizers but near the pump was visibly dirty. I hadn’t noticed any of this until after I ordered which is why I took my rolls to go. I took a few photos, not to bash them but in hopes that maybe they’ll make it look more presentable

Hello, I went to Sushi 21 and was immediately impressed by the pricing. I mean compared to other places-especially it being In Downtown Manhattan – I mean you definitely feel like you’re getting a deal here. The people are really nice and friendly but it took them almost 40 minutes to make my order. And yes I did order quite a bit but there was nobody else there. And the place is a little bit dirty but honestly doesn’t matter so let’s get to the important part. The food- the food taste like it’s cheap. I got 5 different roles with edamame and Sashimi. The way I ate one of every roll waiting for flavor but everything just tasted like raw fish with no flavor or sauce – just fish and rice. It tasted like the sushi at the supermarket. The quality of the fish wasn’t bad- but it was boring. To specify I got the sushi regular, Tono Dragon, SnowFlake, spicy tuna, Salmon avocado, and Edamame. Everything was pretty bland – especially the regular rolls – the special ones had a little bit of flavor. But I was so bored after 3 bites. And the sashimi again was so boring- but everything just tasted like sashimi- like just plain fish. The soy sause was also so runny like they added water before hand. But then I BOUGHT IT AGAIN, thinking Mabey it was a 1 time thing and based on everyone else’s comments – it’s supposed to be good. But no- I brought it to a family and friends gathering- it was barely touched- people would take some and then eat it and put the rest back. Even my Asian friend put it back and she eats EVERYTHING. Honesty I’m so sad to say this – I really thought I found a NYC spot – but spend that same money you were gonna on this – somewhere else because the sushi here is not worth your money.

Went in after seeing the high ratings on Google but it’s just about ok in my opinion. The fish was fresh but the sushi itself was way smaller than usual and the presentation was lacking. Also, the prices aren’t as cheap as it is made out to be.
