I love walking around and browsing the shops on Main Street, and Schmear Bagel & Café is truly a hidden gem. Their bagels are delicious, and the service is excellent. The staff is always nice and friendly, making it a great place to grab a bite while shopping in the area. Highly recommended

I stopped in this morning and was pleasantly surprised to see the shop has new management.
The service was also noticeably faster and friendlier than my previous visits. It’s so great to see this place getting some love. I tried the Jaz’s special and it was perfect. I’m so happy to have a reliable bagel spot again. Highly recommend giving the ‘new’ shop a try 🙂

Unfortunately, new management has come in and made changes that are not necessarily for the good. It’s a coffee, bagel and muffin place. That’s what’s it’s always been. The “old” Schmear, which had a few management changes always kept a muffin supplier. Now the new management has changed it and the muffins are those greasy, tasteless ones that you might see, but never buy, at a gas station along the highway. It’s a shame for us PW residents, but luckily there are new options along Main Street. Btw, I’m no “muffin aficionado”, but I’ve heard the same complaint by many others.

They have gluten free bagels and they taste great! I called ahead to confirm proper preparation procedures in place. They have a separate toaster and prep area. I ordered the #2 bagel sandwich, with a gluten free everything bagel. It came with Tofu cream cheese, avocado, cucumber, and roasted red peppers. It was delicious! The service was quick and the staff were all very friendly. Highly recommend giving them a try!

We like the breakfast sandwiches here. They were fresh and quite large. They have a great selection of baked good, coffees, bottled beverages, and of course, bagels. There are seats, but not too many. The staff was friendly and attentive. We will probably be back as they are a nice choice for an order and sit breakfast unlike some of the bagel shops in town. Prices were OK.

Had been here several times in the past year. Went today and had the worst experience. Order was a chocolate protein powder smooth, a berry smoothie, and a toasted croissant tuna sandwich. Took about 30 minutes for it to be ready when there were exactly 6 people in there and most had gotten their food already. After waiting 30 minutes, the chocolate smoothie that I paid extra for chocolate, ended up being a vanilla smoothie, the tuna sandwich which was supposed to have a side of pickles, did not have the pickles. Extremely disappointed at the level of incompetence. In the 30 minutes we waited , they had gotten 3 other people’s order wrong.

The staff could not have been nicer, food was good. While I’d look forward to eating here again with slim pickens as they are for breakfast in my hometown here, I was appalled that the owner seems to feel it is okay to serve everything on disposables! Wake up people and let the owner know this is unacceptable.

Great local spot for breakfast and lunch. They have good variety of sandwiches and salads. Also, they have good menu of coffee and tea drinks; good place for a quick stop for a drink and a snack.
