I searched for the best New York Pizza in San Diego and found Roger’s among three other options. I had never been there before, so I decided to give it a try. Upon entering, I was warmly welcomed with a friendly hello! The staff, whom my daughter described as a “charming little Italian man,” asked if we had visited before. When we replied no, he enthusiastically shared details about the specials. After some thought, we chose the half pepperoni and veggie pizza. WOW, what an amazing pie! It arrived piping hot and was absolutely delicious. The crust was just right—slightly soft with that unmistakable crunch of a true New York Pie. The sauce and cheese were perfectly balanced, enhancing each other, and the toppings were equally well done. We will definitely be returning! 100 out of 10!!!

The place is small and intimate, the owner was welcoming and amazing explaining the menu. Everything we ordered was fresh and delicious, we ordered the Steak Philly, the Christmas Pizza and a football size Calzon. We attempted to finish everything but no luck, the portions are very good and the owner gave us meatball samples. Next round definitely ordering the meatballs. Overall food quality was great, the owner was very welcoming and friendly plus the restaurant was extremely clean an also the restroom another extra plus.

$10.99 daily special includes two slices or one slice and a salad. I chose the caramelized walnut salad with dried cranberries and feta cheese. It was really good and fresh. The New York style pizza is top-notch. The service is fast and friendly. You won’t be disappointed.

By chance we happen to spot by this gold mine of a place.
The pizza is excellent.
We got a chance to speak with the owner of the place, he told us anyone can make pizza but if you start we great ingredients then you get a better product.
Love it.

The spot is really nice. They have all kinds of stuff and great deals on pizza. I love the crust and how crispy it is no bend. And they give you a lot of toppings. And their Caesar salad is also very generous.

First time at this restaurant. Let me tell you this, I ordered the Philly Cheesesteak and it was absolutely perfect! The bread was lightly toasted with a perfect light crunch, the meat, cheese, onions, and peppers made this sandwich a home run. They knocked thus out of the park with flavor. The staff were very pleasant and I will definitely be back to try their other menu items, especially their pizza!!!!

Great New York style pizza! The pizza crust is hand-made, with a light taste and texture. Topped with homemade sauce and cheese, the pizza here is (according to a New Yorker) as close to authentic New York style pizza that exists in the region. The establishment is small, owned and served by a very friendly family. They offer pastas, sandwiches, and salads as well. But the pizza is worth checking out.

This place offers specialty pizza, white sauce pizza, pastas, strombolis, calzones, wings, desserts, a variety of items. Almost too much to have a niche of what you’re good at.
We came during lunch and ordered supreme pizza 14 inch ($21.99), half lasagna and spaghetti in meat sauce ($15.99) with a side of meatballs ($6.99), wings ($10.99), rigatoni a la vodka ($11.99).
The supreme pizza looked promising and the toppings were overflow, with lots of pepperonis. It was delicious but lacking in the dough and crust. The bottom was thin and soggy.
I would recommend marinara sauce instead of meat sauce with the lasagna and spaghetti combo. It didn’t taste right. I’m also not a fan of overly cheesy lasagna.
Our favorite was rigatoni a la vodka. Not many places have this sauce. It’s vodka over pink sauce. Delicious. I would say this is their best item and a must order. The garlic knots was another contender. Buttery and garlicky. The dough on the garlic knot was really good and tasted yummy the next day. Everything else was just average.
We did take out and everything we took home was still piping hot and ready to eat. I would suggest a different type of take out container for the pasta because it almost melted. The styrofoam warped for sure and all I could think about was the chemicals going in my food. San Diego implemented a styrofoam ban back in 2019 but that got put on hold. Surprised that some businesses went back to it.

Roger is the nicest guy and his Fettuccine Alfredo is the best I’ve ever eaten! The spinach and ricotta stromboli is also to die for. We live out of state and always come back to visit!
