Burgers, fries and curds were by far the best I’ve had in the area. Fry sauce is really good, different but my daughter and I loved it. Wife and son loved the house made ranch. I had the double badlands burger with grilled jalapeños and pepper jack cheese, while everyone else had the regular cheeseburger as it comes. Will definitely be back and recommend to others. Killer job!

We both had a burger and it was absolutely amazing. The Smashburger made from Wagyu beef was perfect! On top of that, we both got a side. I had the beef tallow fries and my partner had the cheese curds. I also added a side of bacon jam and the fry sauce. This food was some of the best tasting food I’ve ever had! I highly recommend visiting

We stopped because a sign said, “Best Burger in Rapid City.” I got a double bacon cheeseburger with tallow fries, and it may have been the best burger and fries I’ve ever had in my life!! A burger and fries might not sound unique, but these people understand delicious flavor!

Right behind the main square in Downtown Rapid. Can walk to a nearby ice cream shop for dessert. Staff is bubbly and helpful to answer any questions. Patio seating. Can buy cuts of meat to prepare at home. I recommend any of the wagyu burgers and the cheese curds. Coleslaw was great too.

5-Star Beer and burger pairing. Had a 2-Pattie wagu bacon-cheese burger with fries for $18+tax+tip and brought it to Hay Camp Brewery. Fabulous. Dakota has awesome smash burgers, but ambiance is “fast food”. They do sell canned beer. Hay Camp has solid line of beers-sours-gluten free options and seating. They do fill up in summer months, so judge your timing.

Solid experience overall. I liked the burger quite a bit. The fries were a bit dry and over-fried (mostly crispy and not much potato flavor left).
My wife’s French dip had great flavor in the meat itself, as well as the jus for dipping. The onions would be better if they were fried/slightly caramelized more. The bun was the weak area as far as not being toasted enough and basically being a hot dog bun. Something with more chew and texture would be great.
Not bad, but room for improvement. The beef they use is great, however.

Will be returning. I had the hot beef au poivre . They ran out of mashed potatoes but offered frys instead…let’s just say…I will be ordering it with fries instead next time…it was simply delicious and had a poutine kind of vibe!! The gal at the front counter was super friendly and very helpful.

The people working were so nice and very friendly. The atmosphere was very chill and I liked that. We got the smash burgers and they were so yummy. I definitely recommend getting a double because the single just wasn’t enough. The fries were also very crunchy and flavorful. 10/10 recommend.
