Found this little gem of a place on our wake up from the dealership. Tacos were fantastic, me and my wife both had carne asada tacos, with all the fixings. She had a margarita while I had a michilada. Will definitely stop again if in the area!

Lack of any effort is my best way to describe. Late lunch. Wait staff was there to seat but very deadpan. Chips came with a chunky red salsa that was trying and a ranch based one that never launched.
Enchiladas pork and chx. I had the pork. Off taste like it was boiled in hot dog water. Salty. Rice salty, box mix? Sour cream had this odd off metallic taste. Margarita very much in line with a Chi Chi style pre mix. Soulless, tourist food.

Both myfriend and I had uncomfortable night. Acid reflux. Took alka seltzer twice. We both are used to spicy, hot foods as well as fresh hot chiles. Burn comes from fake, processed, canned ingredients.

Been there a few times. Service is always good. Food is well made. Good size portions for the money. Was only disappointed once by the sea food chimichunga if you like fake cooked crap meat. You’ll love that one. Otherwise all other dishes ive had there were great.

Amazing! One of us got the steak nachos and we all 3 could have split it. Delicious! The fajita quesadilla was really good too. Kid loved the chicken strips and fries. It was a really fun atmosphere. Great service. We will definitely be back. Worth the 35 minute drive for us. Jose himself was there, and super sweet guy. Excited for him and his success.

So many options but all done so well. The chips and salsa are delish. You get a “white” sauce that has a touch of sweet to it.

Definitely was not what I was expecting a burrito to look like! Similar to a previous review, this contained all the burrito fix-ins, but not assembled. In fact, we thought we got everything BUT the actual burritos (see attached photo with lid off). We were on our way back to the restaurant when I discovered the meat and super soggy tortilla under everything else. I’m giving this review an extra star just because it tastes okay, but it’s definitely a bit of a disappointment 🙁

We’ve been to their other locations, so we just had to check out the Sauk City one. Did not disappoint! The food is amazing & service is too. The atmosphere is wonderful mostly due to the amazing murals painted everywhere. Quality and portion size is excellent, seems like always leave with a to-go box. I love how the staff works seamlessly as 1 big team. From being seated, taking drink then food orders, to paying the check; it was a different person each time so we feel like we’re the only ones there. Despite being a busy weekend afternoon.

I’ve been fortunate to dine in wonderful restaurants in Mexico and many US cities large and small, and this seriously was the best Mexican meal I’ve ever had with wonderful and friendly service. Pollo Loco. And their chips, salsa and mayonnaise sauce were fantastic too. Best chips I’ve ever had. Curt and Craig Culver, wow, I’m jealous even though we have the 2nd best Mexican restaurant in Rhinelander!

Jose’s is a delightful addition to Sauk City. The staff are very friendly and the food was delicious! Everyone loved their meals. The manager even came over and gave us a free drink as a thank you. We will be back for sure!
