The sushi chef is very friendly, as are the rest of staff. Prices are affordable, the sushi is very fresh and traditional. Don’t expect a huge menu with all your favorite crazy modern rolls, but do expect solid food and good conversation! Feels like home for someone who has lived in Japan.

They don’t do take out orders after 11 am. But Google says it doesn’t open until 11am. So no takeout. Sad I drove all the way here(had dogs in the car so I can’t do dine in) very disappointed, I was excited to try it. Just wanted to warn anyone else so they don’t make the drive if you’re looking for take out.

The sushi here is great and on par with any major city. Yes, the hours are limited but that is the only drawback so plan accordingly. The owners are friendly, helpful and accommodating. The seating area is small so go early if you have a group or better yet, call ahead and see if they can accommodate a larger group. Take out orders are processed an hour before they open for lunch or dinner and they do not accept take out orders after their storefront is physically open. The owners told me that it can become too busy to process sit down orders with take out orders. I’ve eaten here several times and also ordered take out. The sushi is always fresh and the price is very reasonable. If you enjoy fresh sushi, this place should be on your list.

This is my third time eating at Cafe Sushi within the first 10 days of my visit. You can tell that I always have a good time here as I am still a college student but willing to spend my money. The chef and the lady there are super nice, kind, and friendly. They always take care of you like you are more than their customers. They come to chat with you whenever they can. Sometimes they generously offer you a free side dish.
Considered the size of the restaurant and the rarity of Japanese food/ingredients in Los Alamos, they serve quite a variety of sushi. I like Chirashi and Salmon steak teriyaki. Overall, my experience at Cafe Sushi is exceptionally great and better than at many other Japanese restaurants where I am from since day one. I always love supporting small businesses.

I went three years ago and the fish tasted dusty. Weird explanation but that’s the best I can describe it. Went again recently to try it again and could not believe how rude and impatient the owners are. I ended up walking out. I am now looking at purchasing the building they are in to evict them just on principal.

Delicious sushi, friendly owners. Not a huge roll selection, HOWEVER, the fresh flavors, nicely sized rolls, and great prices will leave you very, very happy and full!! Highly recommend to sushi enthusiasts.
