There was a wide range of dishes to try last night and their presentation was clean and beautiful. I could go into each one because they were all delicious in their own way. Each component of the meal worked together to have a perfect balance of flavors.
Honestly, I could go into each drink pairing too. The drink selection complimented each dish perfectly to bring forward and highlight each dishes flavor profile. I also like that there wasn’t all wine pairings. There was a non-alcoholic option and a brown sugar bourbon that I loved.
I love these types of events because you get to talk with the Chef directly, give feedback and get an understanding of why he does what he does. Not to mention you get to try dishes you may not normally without a full meal commitment. On top of that, it a really fun time out. I highly recommend giving events like this a try.
We already know we love Chef Ron’s food, and have been waiting for the restaurant opening. The restaurant is absolutely beautiful, spacious, has a warm atmosphere with an amazing view of the Bohemia River. Mike and I were seated with an incredible view at an intimate table where we could enjoy each other’s company.
We started out with a peanut butter White Russian. It was expertly mixed with subtle hints of PB and a perfect ratio of Kahlua and Vodka. For appetizers we shared the Mushroom and Brie soup, Crab and Stracciatella dip, Tempura Shrimp with Asian braised vegetables. Everything was very good, but my favorite was the shrimp and braised cabbage in a Thai chili sauce. I could have stopped there and been happy.
For entrees Mike had the Grilled Salmon with a Thai honey glaze and Crab fried rice while I had the Berkshire Pork Chop with roasted brussel sprouts. It’s hard to find a perfectly cooked pork chop that is tender and has great flavor, my entree delivered both. The entire meal was light and fresh, we were both very happy with our meal choices.
Another highlight that we especially enjoyed while there was the attentive service of the Dining Room manager Angelia, our waitress Tatiana, and a table visit from Chef Ron himself. It was really nice to be able to talk to the chef and share our love for his food with him. I also appreciate the down to earth genuine conversation, it really made the night special!
We can’t wait to go back again!
We can’t wait to come back and try more on the menu! Plus, the wine is so amazing

A huge thank you to our waiter, Asa, for the incredible service. His wine and food pairing recommendations were spot on and truly elevated our meal. If you’re looking for a perfect dining experience, this is it!
Harvest and Tide just opened at Bohemia Manor Farm, with Chef Ron Milburn and his wife, Angie, both formerly of The Vineyard Wine Bar in HdG, at the helm.
The moment we arrived, we were awestruck at the beautiful setting on the river, grape vines lining the property, and lots of cozy outdoor spaces for happy hour or dining. I regret not taking any photos of the outside, but we were so speechless at the sunset beauty on the river that I didn’t even think of it.
From the moment we were greeted at the door, the service was impeccable. The decor and seating was warm and comfortable, especially the chairs, very relaxing. The space is large and open, but cozy, with gentle ceiling fans and lots of greenery. The entire vibe of Harvest and Tide put us in mind of restaurants in Palm Springs.
Our server, Dylan, was a charming young lady, very efficient and friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu.
The food. Wow. We shared a Beet Salad and Crab Dip (but it wasn’t all gooey, just straight up crab, *enough* cheese, garlic and spinach), with grilled naan bread. Each of these appetizers was 5 stars.
The entrees were even more special, and we attacked them with a vengeance. So much so that I got no photos of them until back home, with my dish in the take-out box. Mark had the Lamb Burger, perfectly cooked to medium temperature, served with Truffle Fries, and he gave this dish 5 stars. I ordered the Wild Boar Pappardelle, which was delicious and bold, but not too spicy. The boar was tender and juicy while the grilled carrots atop gave it a hearty, fall flavor. This dish got 5 stars from the moment it was plated.
For dessert, we shared Tiramisu, which was lighter than most, but bursting with rich coffee notes and yummy, creamy marscapone. The blueberries and chocolate drizzle were a nice touch.
This place is a trek, even from HdG, but do yourself a favor, book a table (they’re on Open Table), take a leisurely drive there, and spend a special evening enjoying this fabulous new restaurant. Arrive at sunset and have a cocktail on the patio before dinner, or even earlier in the day to visit Chesapeake City before dinner.
Chef Ron, Angie, and the whole crew, you’re off and running, keep up the good work. This place is special.
