On March 8, 1982, James J. Green went in search of the American dream and founded JJ Fish on Martin Luther King Drive in Chicago, Illinois. At this small restaurant, Green sold fresh fish to his customers and charged $1 to fry each fish in his “secret” batter. Not only was his fish fresh, but his batter was irresistible! Through his love and dedication of fresh and delicious food, he turned his small store into the very successful restaurant business it is today.

Visited the new location on 8.8 for lunch. Ordered the 3 piece trout and grizzard combo with no fries. The franchise fries are not seasoned well and does taste like real fries. So I asked for double coleslaw. These little pieces of heaven should come in a larger size! Best coleslaw in fast food. Got my order in good time. Looked good! Fish was a nice size, a little bigger than location on Hwy 85, hope this doesn’t change but I bet it does. The grizzards were okay, not cooked long enough for my liking. Maybe next time I will ask for them to be fried a little harder, the outside coating was a little soft but it was okay and the meat was a little pink. I baked the others in the oven for 10mins. Overall, this was a good first experience. Good counter movement and even received a helpful suggestion when I was deciding on my order. Liked the clearly visible daily special signs, not sure if other locations have that. It was clean and had the condiments neatly stored away from the counter. I just hope this experience will be the same during my future visits.

My foodie friend couldn’t wait to go to JJ’s Fish in Fayetteville. The whole presentation was beautiful. I ordered the perch and red snapper with fried okra. I enjoyed everything. The red snapper was different from the picture on the wall.

Called my order in at 338 and when I got there I was 1st in line still had to wait until 4:06 for my food. Food is good but service is blah. Everyone nonchalant. I ordered a blue raspberry lemonade and they barely put any blue in the cup. Food is good (ordered 2 piece of fish & 4 wing meal) but Greenbriar service is better.

The food is great…However when I pick up a customer’s order from them while door dashing they never let me know when the order is ready. They staple the bag and sat it to the side and don’t say anything…I literally have to ask them if the order they placed to the side is the same one I’m picking up EVERYTIME so in result I always end up waiting way longer than I needed which makes the food colder once it’s delivered. They do this EVERYTIME.

We drove 35 mins so my husband could get some fish and gizzards. He didn’t check the order before leaving and got home to find that there was no fish. They put chicken wings in instead of the fish. He said it was the BEST mix up ever! He said that is some of the best chicken he’s had in years! I’m sure he’ll be back soon for some more wings and that fish he’s still craving
Y’all need to open a location in Newnan!

I had just left Cinemark and driving home I saw jjs im from Chicago and haven’t been to one in a few years. The food was so good. However, I have to dock points for the pizza puff. It lacked any flavor, but I had the wings and perch fish both so tasty.

This is our favorite place to go for our comfort food. A 20 or 30 piece pan of chicken is our favorite. It’s very reasonable and the chicken is delicious! The powdered lemon pepper is so good. I also love the okra. Im so glad they are in the pavillion now! They staff is always friendly.

I Ordered my food online at 5:30pm Christmas Eve . I arrived at 6 pm and didn’t get my order until 7:15. I went up to the counter several times… with out much help ! I noticed that they do not have a first come first serve System. As a matter of fact… I didn’t see any type of organization or system to get orders out. After pleading about being there so long… I found out that my ticket was lost. I then observed that the order tickets were ALL over the place … in a box , Stacked on top of one another, hanging from above… it was a mess! I have been ordering JJ’s pre holidays orders in the past from the JJ’s on Old national and never had a problem getting my order within 15 min. So.., please beware of this problem during busy times when going to JJ’s in Fayetteville Pavilion.
