Jerod and Kyah the new owners run a Amazing place and it just feels like home. The overhaul is complete now and they have hit the ground running. The Barn team is best in the Great Lakes Area. They have Great Food, Great Live Music, Great parking, and most Importantly it’s a family friendly environment.
The Elite Event space for Northwest Iowa. From Weddings,to Beach Volleyball, Live music, to a great place to catch a game. They literally have it all.

For the price of the food and the alcohol this place is great! You’re not overpaying for a microwave meal, the chefs put in their work. Make it for dancing and you’re even more set!

Worked as the head chef, realized that the kitchen had never seen soap and water ever. Absolutely unacceptable to be open for service so I had to call STATE HEALTH INSPECTOR to shut it down for a week to clean. Owner Bob Larsen never paid anyone by a business check probably going to or should be audited and also is the most unprofessional business owner out there. He has lost a business or 2 due to sanitary problems hence why he will not be back at Crazy Bob’s at Brooks Golf Course. Servers and bartenders are great. The only thing good but new cook had merca(open sores from merca staff infection)

First impression -hit a washed out area in the driveway and I was afraid it had damaged my car. Second -a very limited menu. Third – Our appetizer arrived after our sandwich. The onion rings were greasy and soggy. The bun on the sandwich was stale. My glass of wine was cheap and watered down. We will never eat here again.

After a 4 hour car ride we stopped to have a family dinner. After our server took our order he disappeared. Another server brought our drinks. We then proceeded to only receive half our meals. We had to go to the bar to ask for refills and get an update on the food. “The person in charge” told us that because they were out of chicken strips, our new order got pushed to the back of the line rather than go with our original order; like it would at any other restaurant.

“The person in charge” explained this to us as if we were foolish and unreasonable for being upset that we got half our order and then waited over 20 minutes to get the remaining food. That’s a poor explanation/excuse. This individual had a terrible attitude the entire time we spoke and managed to offend 5 adults and an 8 & 10 y/o boys. It was bad enough that even the kids thought it was weird and uncomfortable.

This person then proceeded to aggressively argue with us, asking how the service was and how the food was. As if either of those things have anything to do with the issue at hand or that the quality of food made up for TERRIBLE service. They repeatedly kept asking “Is there a problem?” My 77 y/o Grandmother scoffed at this interaction and then they called her out asking “Is there a problem? You were rude first.” They also tried to say it was the young (girls) servers fault because it was her first day. She was pleasant enough and wasn’t the issue.

It’s also worth mentioning that a dog kept walking in and out of the restaurant while walking under people’s tables…

That’s the service you’ll get at the Okoboji Barn Bar & Grill. They’ll offer terrible service, less than average food, and blame you for not enjoying your visit. And dogs in the dinning room. Couldn’t recommend any less. Zero stars.

Coming here for actual dinner is not great. Bar-style food turned out fine but the wait was insanely long and the service was all but absent. Servers seemed very confused about the entire ordering system, food did not come out all at the same time, drinks and sides were missed across orders, napkins and silverware were not readily available when food was brought out.

Don’t miss this diamond in the rough. Such a fun, relaxed atmosphere. Service was quick and the staff was wonderful. He even made me a lemon drop martini. Check it out!

A fun location and good burger away from the crowds of Arnold’s Park. Despite the 90 plus degree heat, the dining area downstairs was cool enough. Cold drinks and burgers we’re tasty and friendly staff.

I had the barn buger and sweet potato fries, I highly recommend. Excellent customer service from the moment we walked in the door from everyone. Our server was exceptional. Thank you for a great experience!

Very limited menu. Cysco ingredients. Service was spotty and more focused on trying to get mojitos to us than supper. Clean facility, loud atmosphere. Really neat barn with binzebo out back. Has potential but needs some polish.
