‘I have a lot of great memories in this place:’ Nearly 100-year-old …
Reviews
Anyhow, they make their bread and buns in house and almost everything else is from scratch and they use local eggs (not sure what else is local forgot to ask) ! We tried their biscuit and gravy (huge, delicious, no grease) French toast (made with homemade bread and they got our bacon perfectly crisp like we asked) and the Reuben was . I haven’t had homemade fries at a restaurant in forever. REAL potatoes! Not to mention the massive cookies. They have a LIVE beehive in there ( ) and sell local products similar to the bee shop in Churchville. Specials every day that aren’t on the menu too.
Only open sat/sun 9-2. They said they are slowing down but are going to stay open for winter this year to test it out. Please go support them, all the employees were so nice! Our waitress Becca was the best and she sat at a table with our 2 year old and colored with him while we finished up and the place was empty. She was so sweet and the manager took time to show us the bees, give our son stickers, and explain their restaurant concept to us.
Did I mention it is affordable?! Okay I’m done…no I don’t work there and I don’t know the owners haha. But will be back again! Tell Becca Forest sent her (my son ❤️)
I’ve been coming here for well over 30 years and WHITE’s has always been a delight to be part of!
Thank you for your hospitality!
They have a beekeep, and it was fun to see the hive behind plexiglass and identify the queen. Picnic tables outside, and a story by my friend’s daughter about how she helped a Quaker youth group build a solar panel for them and was fed well when she was in middle school. What a treasure, I’ll certainly make my way back!
They make their own bread and every plate has a toasted slice with this strawberry spread that just begs you to dip that toast.
Grits? You like them? My wife for the first time ever didn’t doctor them up at all. Lol!
The owners have a solar array that helps power the restaurant and have a bee hive panel inside to help educate about them.
So find them on the map and drive on out. You won’t be disappointed.
You cannot pass through without stopping at least once. Featuring all local fresh ingredients, homemade delicious bread (seriously the best bread). I recommend anything, but have personally tried and loved the BLT (truly legendary), the Ruben, homemade bacon cheese burger, trout sandwich, and homemade fries. They also sell cuts of local meats when in stock, local honey, homemade local & compound butter, and local ciders.
The staff only make this stop even more enjoyable, the energy is fun and inviting and they’re happy to crack a joke. Absolutely amazing customer service and their knowledge of food is astounding. There’s places that make just good food to churn it out and then there’s places that really understand food and make show stopping dishes. This is one of them, whether you eat in, take out, or eat at their available outdoor area, PLEASE do not pass White’s Wayside.
