They specialize in Detroit-style pizza and I LOVE it! I have always been a huge of thick crusts and this blew my mind. It was my first time trying it and it was literally sooo good! The crust is so thick and fluffy and chewy but also has a crispy cheese layer on the outside. Definitely get this over the Sicilian style crust if you like your crust 🙂
I ordered Firehouse Special that allows you to choose a ranch or honey drizzle! I tried the honey and it was a nice sweet contrast to the salty flavors of the pepperoni and bacon. My favorite was the Fun Guy Forno though because of the mushrooms!
The Jalapeño Popper Breadsticks were basically elevated breadsticks and honestly were so good and cheesy and definitely worth it! I would recommend popping this in the oven for a bit to make it extra cheesy.
I’m going to ask for more of their spicy buffalo ranch next time because I couldn’t stop dipping everything in it even though it was meant for the wings!
Their pizzas are huge and filling and perfect for sharing with friends and family (or as leftovers for the next few days).
The crust was crispy and the toppings were on point! I would def come here again. The wings were also really good, with ranch to dip in. And the cheese sticks came w marinara.
I ordered the following:
1) Firehouse Special with Honey (Detroit Style)
2) Fun Guy Forno with Vegan Cheese (Sicilian Style)
3) Wolverine Salad
4) Jalapeño Popper Breadsticks
My favorite was 1. Flavors on point and the honey was the perfect drizzle of sweetness. I got the honey on the side but it went well with some red chilli flakes on top.
I was also really impressed with their salad. Such huge portions and tasty dressing.
I went to their San Jose location which runs out of a ghost kitchen but they have others in the Bay (Oakland and SF).
Gotta come back and try some of their other menu items. I’m going to stick to some more Detroit Style crusts. Best eaten fresh.

The food is really tasty and exceeded my expectations, I got a SMOG pizza, a pepperoni with pineapple pizza, BBQ wings, and the cheesy breadsticks. All of it was really good, I think the pepperoni was my favorite though. It serves a lot of people, was leftovers for two days for my family of 3!
It is very convenient to order online and pick up is so easy.
What we got: BBQ Chicken, Motown Meat Lover, Cheese Breadsticks
what i ordered:
motown meat lovers pizza (added black olives & mushrooms)
fun guy forno (added ham)
cheesy breadsticks
bbq wings
my family loved me a little extra for bringing these back for dinner will definitely be back!
But I grew up in Michigan. I’ve eaten Detroit style pizza from probably every kind of Detroit style pizza place out in Michigan. And if you are looking for a Detroit style pizza experience and use this as your first pie? You’ll be disappointed. Little Caesars has a better Detroit style pie than this place. They compare themselves to Buddy’s pizza from Michigan… It’s an insult to Buddy’s.
I am not a pizza connoisseur. But I’ve eaten a lot of pizza. I like all pizza. But the mix of cheese, crust, sauce, and topping on this pizza is no bueno.
So if you are really craving Detroit style pizza, then drive up to SF and have a square from cellarmaker over this.
8 Mile Detroit Pizza really saved our night where we did not know where to order, and I was scrolling up and down yelp page where just to get a simple pizza for my family. I stumbled upon 8Mile, looked through their menu, and every dish was actually sounded delicious. So we decided to get their:
1. Three Cheese Red Top Detroit Style (With three different kinds of cheese: Mozzarella, Provolone, Romano). This definitely hit the spot. The combination of three cheese just made it a delicious simple cheese pizza.
2. Fun Guy Forno (tomato sauce, mozzarella, brick of cheese, sauteed mushrooms, slow-roasted garlic, and basil). My husband loves this dish specifically. Anything with sauté mushroom on top of bread with cheese just his thing.
3. Wolverine Salad (Caesar salad with cherry tomatoes, parmesan, green pepper, bacon, cilantro, grilled chicken, croutons). Their croutons were my favorite! They baked it perfectly with the right amount of cheese on top! Just made my salad the perfect amount of crispiness.
4. BBQ Wings. Perfect for appetizer. Don’t forget to ask for ranch sauce to dip it with.
We ordered it online. The process was smooth and pizza came on time. We appreciate the convenient of cloud kitchen during this pandemic time where the option of dining in was still limited. (We ordered this during March this year where most restaurants were still shutting down). We definitely will coming back to this place.
