Reviews
The restaurant is clean and bright, service is quick and friendly, and the portion size is generous for the price. Free hot tea is a big plus too.
Would definitely come back again!
The Food
The broth is the star here—clear, rich, and deeply aromatic with hints of star anise and cinnamon. It has that “excellent taste” that only comes from hours of slow-simmering. The beef is tender, the rice noodles have the perfect “chewy” snap, and the fresh herbs add a bright crunch. Simply put, every spoonful is so yummy.
The Vibe
Beyond the bowl, the warm atmosphere makes the experience. Whether it’s the steam fogging up the windows or the friendly, bustling energy of the staff, you feel instantly at home. It’s the kind of place that nourishes your spirit as much as your appetite.
When I asked the staff, they told me the noodles were supposed to be CRISPY like that. But this was not crispy — it was undercooked and tough. I clearly know what dry pho noodles are like because I’ve eaten them for years, but they insisted that this was how dry noodles should be.
They said they would reheat my bowl, and I was happy with that. However, they ended up making a new bowl for me, which I appreciated, and I expected it wouldn’t be undercooked this time. But after I complained, the staff kept staring at me and making eye contact in an uncomfortable way. From the moment we ordered, I already didn’t like the attitude of the server because she seemed impatient with me and my friend. I can understand being busy, but her attitude was very obvious, as if she wanted us to notice it.
I admit that we took a bit of time to choose our order because we occasionally forgot some small requests we needed for the dish, but it wasn’t that long. It took us at most about 10 minutes to decide and place the order. After I started complaining about the food, all the staff in the restaurant looked at me with rather unpleasant expressions.
When the new bowl arrived, I had a bad feeling, and as expected, the noodles were still undercooked, just like before. It felt like they simply removed the bean sprouts and poured in new broth. Otherwise, it seems the restaurant is actually using dried noodles without properly soaking or blanching them, and calling it “dry noodles.”
When I received the second bowl, I vaguely heard them mumbling something about me when I mentioned that the noodles still didn’t seem right. But since I had already complained once, I felt embarrassed, so I just finished the bowl and picked out the hard strands and the ones that were soft on the outside but mushy inside, putting them aside.
I really did not like this experience at all.
P/S: Photos showing examples of proper dry rice noodles, fresh rice noodles, and dried rice noodles that need to be soaked before cooking.
