I have been here several times since my first review. The food here is generally very good and above par, however Tuesday is taco Tuesday where that have tacos for $1.50. You can choose soft or hard shell, salsa, guacamole, sour cream are all extra. They are edible , and for the price I can not complain. But if all of the menu offerings it is my least favorite. The drinks and drink specials are all superb. And the bartenders are engaging and worth the price of admission. Fish and chips have always been great. If your driving to Portland, Coos Bay, it’s just off the I-5 and worth a stop.

The atmosphere here is like an old western bar, with a pool table, a small area in the back for lottery. They do have entertainment once in awhile and karaoke. What really stands out more than anything is the service. The server makes all the desserts, and she has very good recommendations. The prices are so reasonable here for a full meal. And they give you quite a bit. All the condiments are free including ranch dressing. I was really thirsty, and the server brought me a pitcher of Ice-Tea. They are ADA compliant. I will frequent this restaurant again. And often. I had a brisket sandwich, dipped in au jus with onion rings. Next time I’ll get french fries. I hear they’re very good. My friend got fish and chips. It tasted delicious. They are very low, carb, friendly and will substitute the fries for coleslaw or cottage cheese. And the cottage cheese is very good! The service was so good, I tipped very high because of the personal attention. Again, the prices are very reasonable and the service is very friendly. Seems like only locals go there which makes it even better.

I ordered off the senior menu which I never do, but I wasn’t that hungry, I really just wanted a drink and a pee before we finished our day long trip to Bandon. I ordered the chicken strips and the wife a BLT. My order came and I was a little confused as to what I had? it looked weird but I took a bite, it was white meat but didn’t really have any taste? My wife’s BLT was looking very good at this point, but I soldered on thinking since it came off the senior menu that senior center food is what I was getting, a tasteless chicken meal. I used a lot of dipping and the accompaning pot salad was delicious. I told my wife this was the worst chicken fingers I’d ever had. As we were leaving the bartender ask me how my fish sticks were……

I got here often. There isn’t many choices around where I live but I sure am happy to have a place where I can get a good buzz on have a burger and not be bothered, or vice versa I can strike up a conversation with the random patron both are perfectly acceptable. The parking lot always looks full but there is always a place to sit.

Love The Rose. We’ve been coming up from Sutherlin for a few years. Nice place to just relax and have a beer, and the food is always good!

BEST BURGER WEST OF THE MISSISSIPPI!!
The chef here knows what shes doing.
We stopped here on our way back from the coast and the bacon cheeseburger was nothing short of amazing. The burger patty was done to perfection with the crispy edges, and the bacon was smothered in a blanket of cheese. The garnishes of pickle onion lettuce tomato were crisp and juicy, and all that was between a soft fragrant sesame seed bun.
The fresh cut fries were browned to a nice crisp while not losing the rich potato taste.
This place is 140 miles from home and I’m tempted to drive back just for this burger!
The staff was friendly and happy, the place was very busy. There’s keno and multiple TVs going as well.
