The original is really good and is what we are expecting exactly. It tastes even better than some of the chain stores we visited in Japan. The souffle is soft and fluffy with not much flour or egg smell which some of the pancake shop has. The cream sweetness and texture is nearly perfect and the salt butter is well mingled with the pancake itself. The curry tonkatsu is okay but with only $16, I think it is great value. Will definitely come back for the souffle and other dishes since it tastes good and won’t break the bank. Highly recommend!

Wait was minimal on a busy Sunday brunch by joining waitlist in advance. Food was visually appealing and came out without a long wait, however the curry was not hot and so we asked for it to be reheated. The soufflé pancakes were good, would be nice if the butter was not a hard cold chunk, though.

Would skip the eggs benedict and stick to some of the more Japanese dishes. InKind worked just fine.

Food not only looks great but tastes amazing. Their curry sauce is full of so much flavor definitely would recommned the wagyu beef curry. Must try their chicken karage as appetizer. For dessert can’t forget their delicious pancakes we have tried chocolate and mango both are great for sure depending on your prefernce of fruity or chocolatey!!

Very chill and welcoming service. Sweets are not too sweet, and the savory items are delicious and worth the wait. Servers are super friendly in chatting and offering recommendations at for menu items for those unfamiliar with the types of pancakes. Will definitely be coming back 🙂

Couple of notes: first, the server will tell you pancakes take 30 minutes to prepare. Next, they keep it warm in there. The thermostat was set to 84°. As warm as it was outside the day we went, the breeze that came in every time the door was opened was welcomed.

Those things aside, the food was delicious. We started with the veggie kakiage so we wouldn’t be hungry. It was well-fried, not greasy and delicious. We then ordered a chicken kara-age curry and unagi don. Both were delicious. The cheese on the curry surprised me. Wasn’t a fan of it and would ask if they could omit it next time I visit. Would definitely prefer both again as they were well cooked, seasoned and were great portions. The pancakes were delicious and fluffy.

Looking forward to returning to try other flavors and maybe an ube latte. Staff was friendly and attentive.

Souffle pancakes were good but not out of this world. Thankfully they had a batch ready after we ordered so we didn’t have to wait 30 min for them as advertised. Cheese gyudon was good but a bit light on the beef – too much cheese and rice, and the egg could have been more runny. They had wifi and it wasn’t too busy on Thursday morning so I could work a bit.

BETTER THAN TAKAGI in LA!
I was just looking for a cafe that had soufflé pancakes but little did I know that I stumbled upon this gem! The original cafe is in Osaka and they opened up 2 stores in the states. 1 in SF and recently this location.
I ordered the chilli, honeycomb latte, tonkatsu curry, and the hazelnut soufflé pancakes. I’m obsessed with the recent food addition which is their chilli pancakes. I thought it would be like Hawaii zippy chill but it was even better than expected! The curry reminded me of curry from an anime because of the veggies mixed into it. I spoke to a worker and they said they simmer the curry overnight which holds the flavor.
Lastly, the hazelnut soufflé pancakes were so fluffy and way better than takagi pancakes! I’m a BIG chocolate lover so the flavor of the hazelnut sauce really stood out to me and I loved that they added cocoa pebbles for a slight crunch.

Overall, I would give this place a 10/10!

Love this place. Can’t wait to go back! The soufflé pancakes and French toast are so yummy and delicious. I felt like I was in Japan. Also they use SightGlass coffee bean. Thanks so much for your hospitality.
