First off, the food is really good! Everything is seasoned well and the chicken that comes with the chicken and waffles has a really nice kick to it that complements the waffle so well.

The only complaints I really had were about the fact that a brunch spot didn’t have any coffee. Like, not even just a drip coffee or bottles of iced coffee, they don’t have coffee at all. Definitely taken aback by that.

The second was that the atmosphere is really great, inside and out, but front of the building was so uninviting that you would never know that this amazing brunch spot was here unless you were looking for it.

Cooper-Young has such a great porch culture, so to drive by a place where the name doesn’t give away that it’s a brunch spot, there’s almost no signage out front and there are wooden shields blocking the porch view, it’s hidden in plain sight.

More people should know they exist because it really is a great spot!

Me and my sisters drove 2.5 hours from Arkansas to try the restaurant and we were very glad we did. The service was excellent. Our server was sweet and patient checking to make sure we were okay. I hate I can’t remember her name but we appreciate her. The food was delicious and made fresh. We almost hurt ourselves after the first bite trying to keep eating because it was hot and tasted like our grandmothers home cooking. We tried each other’s food and one sister added a side of the turkey spaghetti after tasting mine. I would recommend and can’t wait to return. I would love to post pictures but we dove straight in and enjoyed our meal.

Finally visited Ashtar Gardens and I’m so glad I did. First and foremost, the music was great! The staff and owner were very welcoming and professional. The waitress was attentive and our food came out fast. I was torn between many options but I chose the Dirty bird ( three wings and waffle). It was flavorful, fresh, and delicious. I enjoyed my watermelon mimosa as well. Next time, I’ll get there early enough to enjoy the backyard seating options.

We ended up walking out after waiting over 45 minutes for our food.

I was really looking forward to trying this place, but the experience was disappointing. We ordered chicken and waffles, and after 45 minutes, the food still hadn’t come out. It wasn’t even that busy when we arrived, so the long wait didn’t make much sense. When we told our server we were leaving, she wasn’t apologetic at all — she just said “okay,” which made it even more frustrating.

The restaurant itself looked nice, but one of the glass panels on the front door was broken, which didn’t give a great first impression. Also, a brunch spot without coffee is just odd — that really caught me off guard.

I was genuinely excited to try the food, but after that experience, I probably won’t be coming back. Hopefully they can work on their service, timing, and overall upkeep, because the menu did look promising.

First time dining here and had ro wait 20 minutes for a table. Great music selection the decor was nice but the restroom floor was sticky. Wanted to try the catfish tacos but they ran out of tortillas, so ordered the “dirty bird” which was the chicken and waffles instead. The chicken was delicious and loved the sauce on the waffles. The other issue we had was that a 20% gratuity was added to the check and there’s no advance notification of the automatic charge.

Was greeted when we walked in and placed on the waiting list. Didn’t take too long so that was a place. Chairs and tables are very uncomfortable. I understand this is a new place so hopefully they upgrade the seating soon. Food took awhile to come out but that was kinda understandable. Music was very loud so don’t expect to talk much to the person across from you without yelling. Overall it was decent. I’ll be back when they have their regular menu to try some things.

Would’ve been nice if we didn’t have over an 30minute wait for food. Table of 6 and they brought out the most simple orders last! Avocado toast doesn’t take close to an hour. It was for my 4 year who cried because he saw everyone else eating and he didn’t have any food. It was a big gap. Never will return.

We visited this spot on a Thursday evening, and we were directed to scan a menu. However, we were then told that the establishment only sells catfish and wings in the evenings. We were slightly disappointed, but the atmosphere was cute so we decided to try it. The fish was under-seasoned and undercooked and the fries were frozen seasoned fries, so we will not return here for food unless we try the actual brunch menu during the day.

Pretty new place with a very lively crowd and vibe. We were there tor Sunday brunch and it was fully packed. Thankfully we got the table on arrival ( we reached by 12:00 noon, when the place opens) and didn’t have to wait. The place was not much big with a few tables – however, they have outside and patio seating arrangements too. We started with chicken wings and mimosa. They don’t sell mimosa by glass. You have to buy the entire bottle of Champaign, and they will give you the juice separately. The freshly squeezed orange or pineapple juice was there- and you have to add it on your on!! This is a little unusual. Anyways, the juice was good and so was the mimosa. So can’t complaint! They served three
Wings and they were huge. Also the sauce was lip smacking- sweet and tangy. Moving on in the main course I got the chicken and waffle bowl. It was served with a side of a bowl of hashbrown. The waffle bowl looked fancy however, nothing extraordinary to eat. The potatoes were rather better- crunchy from the outside, soft and mushy from the inside- although not perfectly seasoned! My friend got the garden breakfast – which was absolutely waste of money! The portion size was pretty less if you compare the money that you paid. The Turkey sausage Patties were small in size and was quite salty. The highlight was the shrimp and grits. It was really good, although I think he portion sizes is a bit less as compared to the price ( or at least they should include a side). Overall, the place was too loud, and the music was loud too. The server lady was nice although she messed up with splitting checks . Parking was also an issue- they don’t have any parking. So you have to park somewhere and I got my parking two blocks away!!

My husband and I had breakfast here on our 20th anniversary.

Ashtar’s had great music, delicious food, and a warm and welcoming vibe.

The service was quick and came with a smile.
