It was my birthday and I ordered shrimp and grits online…when I arrived the order had not come through and my food was not started or done. The bartender was very accommodating, offering me a mimosa on the house that was EXCELLENT! And an experience that started bad turned into one of the best! And the shrimp and grits were AMAZING! I’ll definitely be back!

So, I met the co-ower at my place of work. I love to support blk owned businesses. So, we had a light conversation and I asked about the menu. She began to tell me about wing Wednesday, I asked if they had garlic parmesan she said yes, and explained all the other specials they have throughout the week along with their brunch on Sunday. She was very sweet, I said I’ll be there to try it out. Me being so excited about going on Wednesday with my hubby. We get there a little after 4:30pm, we walk in and we loved the vibe, the atmosphere was great. We ordered 12 garlic parmesan, and an order to go. We then was told that we couldn’t take it with us if we couldn’t finish it all, because they don’t have carry out or to go on any of there specials you have to eat it all there. We thought that was strange never heard anything like that, only at a buffet. Even at an upperscaled restaurant but, their place their rules. Now we get the chicken and it is not even close to garlic parmesan chicken. So, we struggled trying to eat it, because of the taste it was no where near garlic parmesan. We also ordered a 2 take outs. That was a disappointment for the both of us. We will not be going on Sunday for the brunch.

Walking in and seen a clean friendly environment. Music of liking with the Dj playing all the right music to match the crowd. The bartenders was nice n friendly. Even with the 1s who wasn’t serving me still checking to make sure I was okay. My food was great n reasonably priced. My wait time for drinks was minimal and for food was a standard time from when I ordered and received my food. I spent what I spent alone simply off drinks lol but the prices was amazing especially since in other places I spend more. I did get to meet 1 of the owners who came from the back just to check on the customers. She was a friendly n jokey… I’d visit this establishment again and I came a 30 minute drive away…. To the owners keep going ladies!!

I came out from South Euclid with hopes of great food and I was not disappointed. The atmosphere of the bar is very open and quite big. I ordered a side of mac, chicken Alfredo and the catfish bites. The flavor of everything was spot on all the way down to the fries. I also ordered their French Martini which was very tasty and refreshing. The service was wonderful and the music had me moving. The only issue I had was my chicken in my Alfredo was tuff but overall I will definitely be back again. I showed up on a Sunday.

I went here last night around 9:00pm for a couple of drinks and when I asked for the bill to pay the lady in the black long skirt and braids was very rude and did not wanna give me my bill I had my money ready and everything she skipped me to provide service to another customer which I didn’t mind I understand how a bar setting works until he asked to pay for his drink and she told him his total right in my face and she closed his tab which was highly disrespectful especially after I have been asking multiple times for the bill before she let him pay for his drinks. All I wanted to do was pay for my drinks then leave and that was a hassle within itself so unfortunately for me I won’t be back. Which is unfortunate because it was a beautiful bar very clean and nice the people were very friendly and the drinks are amazing.

Let me start off by saying that my wife and I love to support black owned businesses. We have been to the Chalk Bar four times over the past 2 years and only got the opportunity to try the food once. The other three times we visited, we ordered food, and after waiting for over an hour, we decided to leave , without having the opportunity to taste the food. Mind you, each time we have been there the bar was never crowded, with only about 5 to 8 people inside the bar at the time. Our orders were never complicated, just a simple wings and fries, but still taking more than an hour and still being charged a 20% gratuity. Needless to say that we will NEVER patronize this establishment ever again.

This place has very poor service. It took 3 hrs for my friend to get some fries he ordered. Then the server tried to say he never ordered them although he had a number on the table AND had already paid for them. I would recommend not serving food if you don’t have the sufficient staff to make it and serve it. Also, I ordered a drink on the menu, and the bartender didn’t know how to make it. It tasted like a glass of straight lemon juice with salt on the rim. This was my first and last experience there.
