I’m grateful for this cafe. It’s 12 degrees F today and feels like 2F. It was nice to enjoy Turkish Coffee and an Egg, Cheese, and Beef Sajook Bagel while waiting for the next bus.

The staff were friendly, the music was nice, and there was plenty of beautiful artwork on the walls. I enjoyed the picture of the Delal Bridge (always nice to learn about something new).

Stopped by for brunch on a whim and can honestly say this has been some of the best middle eastern food I’ve tried. The royal breakfast is insanely delicious! We especially loved the hummus, all the cheeses, and the egg and tomato dish. The complimentary tea also surprised us with how fragrant and yummy it was!! Pistachio latte was a highlight for me 🙂

We had a lovely time at Silav, the meat is all halal Kurdish / Mediterranean style cuisine. It is downtown Columbus right near the courthouse complex.

We went for breakfast on a Sunday, the street parking downtown is normally paid but free on Sundays and there was plenty available (weekdays is a different story).

We ordered a breakfast sandwich with naan bread and beef sausage as well as a breakfast bowl with eggs, potato, pepper, onion, and mushroom. Both were delicious. We also had Kurdish tea and lattes. Everything was delicious I would highly recommend, hope to return for lunch or Dinner one day Insha’Allah.

I visited twice on a work trip from the United Kingdom, and both occasion were exceptional.

The aesthetic is beautiful, and very warm and inviting.

The flavours were special, and the taste sincerely made it feel like I was traveling even further!

Had the Eggs and Vegetables (Mexlama), was a great meal with the bread. Delicious and filling. Friendly and helpful server. A variety of seating options for solo and group diners.

BEAUTIFUL place, EXCELLENT service, DELICIOUS food, and lovely cultural experience. We will definitely come again. The scrambled egg breakfast dish with naan and the fried lemon potatoes with spicy cilantro sauce were so good. We tried both of the traditional coffees and loved both. And we can’t wait to try the desserts we took to-go!

If you’re craving Kurdish or Middle Eastern food, I highly recommend Silav Cafe and Grill. The food is absolutely delicious! My favorite so far is the Eggs and Tomatoes Hek u Bajan—so flavorful and comforting. We tried their Royal Breakfast, perfect for 2–3 people, and it comes with a pot of their house tea. Everything was fresh, hearty, and satisfying. Definitely worth a visit!

This place is ok at best. We went in with high hopes for this place as the photos and reviews looked great. To start off, it’s very overpriced for what you get, especially for middle eastern restaurant standards. We split the mixed grill platter for $28, which includes 2 skewers of meat, rice, veggies, and sauce. There’s only 5 pieces of meat on each skewer, the rice is just a small cup of it, and the veggies are 1 small pepper, a tomato, and a quarter of an onion. They also give the thinnest pita bread I’ve ever seen. The sauce they give you is no more than 2 spoonfuls of tzatziki, you run out of it a quarter of the way into your meal. For meat, we got lamb tikka and chicken tikka. The lamb was hard and the chicken tasted sour. The rice also wasn’t even middle eastern, they just used white rice and topped it with turmeric rice. We were very disappointed.

If you’re Kurdish, Turkish, or Middle Eastern, I highly recommend it for the atmosphere and flavors you’re longing for. The atmosphere and flavors are wonderful. I also recommend it for those who want to try different flavors. I highly recommend trying the Kurdish and Turkish coffees. The staff is also very kind and helpful.
