We arrived in Naples today and wanted to grab something to eat by the water. Flip Flops showed up online as a beachfront grill, so we headed that way — but it’s actually more of a concession stand than a restaurant.

The woman who took our order was incredibly rude and condescending. We simply asked if there was a bar or restaurant nearby, and her exact words were that we “wouldn’t get in anywhere around here dressed the way we are.” Her tone and attitude were unbelievably disrespectful. Honestly, the only thing I can compare it to is that Pretty Woman scene where Julia Roberts gets judged for her outfit.

We were fully clothed in normal beach attire — nothing inappropriate — yet she treated us like we didn’t belong there. Little did she know, we’re more than capable of affording any restaurant in Naples. Ironically, she was the one who came across as unprofessional and unpleasant.

I ordered a Modelo, which I enjoyed only because I like Modelo itself, but it was warm — definitely not served cool to my standards. My friend’s sangria wasn’t great either, and the third friend in our group actually decided not to order at all after seeing how we were being treated.

The food was terrible and outrageously overpriced for concession stand quality. The tables were covered in ants, and after paying for parking just to eat there, the entire experience was disappointing from start to finish.

I really hope this is not a reflection of Naples as a whole because this was our very first stop after arriving, and it left a bad impression. I strongly suggest management address that woman’s attitude — she’s likely the reason business is slow.

Bottom line: rude service, warm drinks, overpriced food, and dirty tables — not worth the stop.

The beach rentals at this location was disappointing. The space provided per umbrella is limited; at most, about six people can fit under one umbrella, and even then only one person has full shade. There are no half-day rates. After taxes, one umbrella and one chair cost $49.14, and adding a table costs an additional $10.

If a renter leaves early, the equipment is re-rented to others. I also observed situations where one umbrella and chair were rented, and then large groups (15+ people) gathered in the same area, which led to overcrowding and no personal space for surrounding renters.

During my visit, children from an overcrowded group were repeatedly running between my chair and umbrella, which had very little space between them. This resulted in personal items being stepped on. When I moved and addressed the situation, the interaction was unpleasant. I spoke with the attendants after this and asked if I could move my spot. Their response was that it was a busy day. However, the issue was related to how rentals were allocated rather than overall beach capacity.

In addition, noise from nearby groups (music, smoking, and drinking) negatively affected the experience. Better organization, such as grouping families separately from smaller parties might improve comfort for renters.

As a Naples resident, I chose to rent a chair to avoid bringing my own and dealing with sand. Based on this experience, I would not rent from this company again and would encourage others to share feedback so improvements can be made.

Flip Flops Beach Grill is the concession stand in Lowdermilk Park. It is located right next to the beach and the restrooms are behind it.

Flip Flops Beach Grill is perfect when you need refreshment during your visit to the beach. No need to dress up, feel free to come on over in your swim suit. They serve breakfast sandwiches with eggs, lunch sandwiches, kids meals, and snacks. They have your usual soft drink options but they also serve beer, wine, and frozen cocktails elevating your relaxing day. I enjoyed a coffee as the sun set and air turned colder on an crisp early December evening. They also sell t-shirts, beach chairs, floaties, and water toys. Prices are a bit higher than your would typically pay outside the park but you get convenience. As an added bonus they post low and hide tide times and the sunset.

Flip Flops Beach Grill is open every day from 9 AM to 6 PM. There is plenty of seating for eating and drinking on the tables under their covered patio deck. There are also picnic tables surrounding the grill.

The server had a mood and got mad at me for knocking on the window after waiting 10 minutes to order and the food they gave us was disgusting, really overpriced and gave me a bad stomach. The whole place was gross too
Edit: just came back to try again and it was even worse this time. I made the mistake of asking if there was a bathroom and the cashier got mad. Also the nachos are just watered down Tostitos with a poor quality cheese dip.

So happy the concession is back open! Visited Flip Flop Beach Grill with my family and we enjoyed the food from the menu. Burger with bacon was choice and my child loved her hotdog. Alcohol selection is perfect. I enjoyed my beer and my wife had her a Piña Colada. Flip flop is a must try! We will be back! Shout out to the professional and friendly staff!

I had a very disappointing experience. A teenage girl in front of me, who had braces, politely asked if her apples could be cut in half since she couldn’t bite into them whole. The staff member refused and responded with sarcasm, saying she’d have to walk through a “crowded kitchen” (it wasn’t) to do it.

The girl seemed embarrassed and changed her order. I stepped in and told her she wasn’t being unreasonable and should get the apples. She kindly repeated her request, and the staff member snapped: “Oh sure I’ll just make everyone behind you wait so I can cut your apple, because no one has anything better to do.”

I said, “Miss, we don’t mind, it’s your job,” and she cursed under her breath and walked off. The girl was visibly upset and even apologized to me, though she did absolutely nothing wrong. I told her that again.

I live across the street in Charleston Square Village and have been coming here every week or two for some time. The woman behind the counter has always had a cold, unfriendly attitude toward people, but shaming a customer really crossed a line. I guess they can get away with this sort of treatment because it’s in a high-demand neighborhood. A real shame.

I regret going ahead with my own order, I won’t come back here anymore.

Super convenient. Rented an umbrella and chairs. Way better then dragging it all to the beach. Also had lunch/snacks. Again, convenient and quality was better than expected.

New ownership has no idea what they’re doing and it’s very obvious a beach trap money grab. The old cafe was significantly better in terms of price and food quality.

There is a credit card fee that was not expressly stated or in a signed location to notice. Burger was grey and greasy and get this: it’s an UPCHARGE to have Doritos instead of Lays, I’m not kidding. Service staff seemed like they didn’t want to be there at all.

Very disappointed that Lowdermilk has changed for the worse since Ian and I’m pretty sure the city of Naples takes bids and vets potential owners so, it’s on them. Shame.

New management and not impressed. Soft pretzel came out at 200 degrees (obviously microwaved). Rock hard 2 minutes later. Very limited new menu with no chicken fingers or fries for kids. Employees seem like they hate their job. Also extra charge for credit cards but this was not clearly displayed or disclosed prior to paying. It’s a shame because this used to be a really great spot for a quick lunch when on the beach.
