This American-Italian restaurant is an absolute gem! The pasta and meatballs are delicious and comforting, flavorful and clearly made with love. The Alfredo chicken is amazing too! The atmosphere is cozy and lively, especially at night when it fills with actors and artists unwinding after a long day. It’s the perfect place to share a meal, laugh and connect over amazing food. A true neighborhood favorite with a welcoming, creative vibe!

Beware. Had a good vibe, but that’s about it. I thought the food would be good due to reviews. I was very wrong. And I hadn’t had a bite to eat all day so you would think anything I ate would taste amazing. I ordered the seafood soup, it was pretty overwhelmingly fishy smelling and had not much flavor. I couldn’t stomach it after a few bites. I got the cesar salad, it was very bland and lacked any flavor or dressing, had only a few crutons and lettuce, cheese, nothing else: cost 18$. Ive had better at costco for 5$. The lasagna and chicken alfredo tasted like they came out of a box at safeway. And the plates were piping hot to the touch as if the food had been microwaved for 2 minutes. The server even used a mitt to serve us our plates which tells you how hot it was. For 140$ I almost felt like walking out when i saw the check. If you’re thinking of coming here you might as well stay home, you could get much better food in the frozen isle at your local grocery store.

Place has a good location on Melrose, we were seated right away and service was fine. The place was kind of empty apart from two kids playing around in the restaurant and a couple at the bar.

We shared meatballs for a starter, I had chicken alfredo and my friend had shrimp linguine. Pasta was a bit over – past al dente – and the shrimp were a bit rubbery. The alfredo was a bit bland for me.
To me, the meal was nothing special, especially considering it was one of our most expensive meals in LA so far (if not the most).

This is the best spot for Italian food, we got the rosemary chicken, seafood salad, bolognese, pork chop, and minestrone soup. Bread for the table was warm. Martinis are cold and crisp. Staff is exceptional!

The food started out delicious. The mozzarella and bread were delicious. The chicken marsala was good. The ravioli had no flavor.

Where Classics Meet Cozy

If you’re tired of lukewarm pizza joints and wannabe Italian eateries, Frankie’s is your haven. Finally, a place where meatballs and steaks share the same menu without starting a food fight or break the bank! The meatballs are so hearty they could bench press a spaghetti noodle, and the steaks? They’re so solid they make the leaning Tower of Pisa look like a wobbly amateur.

The ambiance is like stepping into a time machine set to “Cozy Italian Dream.” The walls are adorned with pictures that make you feel like you’re part of a secret pasta society, and the recordings of hummable songs from yesteryear will have you tapping your feet and considering a spontaneous serenade.

And let’s talk about the staff – they’re more survivable than your last relationship. Friendly, efficient, and always ready with a smile that says, “Yes, we know our lasagna can solve world peace.” Frankie’s is a rare gem in this culinary desert, and trust me, it’s worth every bite!

I was in the area and was craving good Italian food. This place wasn’t just good, it was great. My friends and I ordered the bruschetta and meatballs for apps and both were delicious. For my main course, I had the ravioli with ricotta. The food made my heart and my stomach happy. I’m not local, but I will definitely be returning in the future to try the rest of the menu.

This is a nice place with friendly people. We went there on New Years Eve and the place was lively. Their food was delicious. The owner is a nice guy who went around and greeted every table which was very sweet of him.
