This place passes itself as Texas Style. Its more Kansas City Style because they are heavy on the sauce. So here are the issues I have.
1. Price: Briscuit & ribs with two sides and a cornbread is $17. Briscuit & chicken was $14. Briscuit slices were small. Please see the reference to fork. Also there was only three ribs. No bang but plenty of bucks.
2. Sauce: Texas style is a dry rub that is mesquite smoked. The ribs had rosemary right on top which made it so strong. These plates were drowning in sauce. Not good.
I was disappointed but I’m sure there are plenty of takers. I do not recommend.

It may seem harsh that I rate it s 1 but 0 wasn’t an option. I grew up in NC and NYC and I am very familiar with southern style food. The presentation was a set up. The seating arrangement was definitely uncomfortable. The cornbread tasted like salt and baking soda. The Mac and cheese was insulting. Macaroni was tasteless and a couple of sprinkles of cheese. I told the lady it had an odor taste. Almost like it was boiled in a chemical the greens tasted like they boiled in plain water (tasteless) the candies yams . The fish and shrimp was edible because of was literally coated in a thin batter and fried. Shocked that wasn’t ruined. The ribs were super dry with a hint of spice. The potato salad were half cooked potatoes slices with I think mustard . I was so upset I didn’t even drink the water as I expect it to be weird. I was asked by the women if they did it justice with a smile I sadly had to tell her no. It tasted like whomever started to cook grew bored and forgot how to cook or season. Never will o return. Will definitely stick to hughleys in Aiea .

Worst service ever! Went to the one in Kapolei to pick up some plates for dinner on the 5 of August 2017. They were out of pork and out of Mac n chz. After waiting almost 45 minutes we got our plates to go only to find that our plates were shorted and the fried chicken plate only had 2 pieces even though the menu said 3 pieces. Went back in to correct it and the lady told me that it was a misprint. No compensation! We left there and went straight to Wendy’s. Don’t waste your money!

My and my husband’s brisket was undercooked, my pulled pork was salty, and my son’s catfish was greasy mudcat (where do you even get mudcat in Hawaii?). My mashed potatoes were dry and tasted like they had been scraped off the floor and back in the pan. My husband said his potato salad, fried okra, and cole slaw was excellent though, so hopefully yours will be too.

My partner and I are major FOODIES!! We went here two weeks ago with a group of seven for Mardi Gra. You must try this place for yourself, the service and the food was absolutely amazing! I don’t usually do reviews, however I feel this place deserves to be acknowledged. It was our first time here and we will come back!!

Worst experience I have ever had at a restaurant. So we made reservations to 5 for Margi gras and two in the party were the first to arrive. The dinner reservation was for 6 pm and when we arrived a little after 6 pm the food wasn’t even ready. Our waitress came and asked what we would like to drink and told us the hurricanes and voodoo drinks were a part of the Buffett so we all order hurricanes and water to go with it. About an hour after getting to the restaurant they finally served “some of the food” but not the boil. We all served ourselves to food and we got our alcoholic drinks but not the water. So we asked our waitress again. While eating the hot food on the Buffett, the servers started bringing out bags of boil and served all the table but Romeo, ours and another table. Our server apologized saying they are making another batch. I had to ask her again for water. So while waiting for our seafood boil, some servers came to all the tables serving fresh hot cornbread and by time they came to our table there were only two pieces left. They offered the two pieces but never brought anymore for the rest of my 5 person party. So we got back to waiting for our boil and finally got water after asking twice. Finally more boil comes out and is served to the other table that did not get boil yet and the table behind us got a second serving but we didn’t get any boil still. I finally went up to the bar and spoke to a waitress who was only full of excuses about how a staff member quit and they were short staff, blah blah blah. I demanded to talk to the owner. I told her everything and our terrible service and she apologized and stated she will serve us. She promised to get us whatever we wanted. So we agreed on one voodoo drink for my husband and a round of hurricanes for everyone else since our waitress said those drinks were included with the Buffett. I went back to sit down and our waitress came and explained that she couldn’t bring the boil out because she is allergic to shellfish and can’t touch it and that is why we didn’t get served first. WHAT??????? We got our drinks and again no voodoo drink. About 15 minutes later we got our boil and it was AWFUL!!!!! It was so salty I couldn’t even eat it. What a disappointment. To make matters worse, we get our bill and there are $50 worth of charges for the drinks that our waitress said was included with the meal. All she had to say to that was that she was informed. Again I asked to speak to the owner and all she had to say was alcohol would never be included. That is all you have to say????? She didn’t even keep the waitress accountable. Her attitude was oh well, pay up!!!! I promise you I will never be back and I will make sure the word gets out that this is the most dishonest and deceptive business I have ever seen and I will make sure my friends never go there. I will take my business elsewhere.

My mouth was watering reading the menu. We ordered, sorry we are out of ribs. Out of coleslaw, out of etc….. I ordered seafood gumbo and received chicken/sausage gumbo. Very disappointed. I think they gave me jambalya instead.

Food and drinks was great! The staff was great and prompt! Karaoke night was fun and free not a lot of places like that around kapolei/ Ewa area. All around no complaints
