Simply the best! Authentic, delicious, homemade Filipino food run by a wonderful family. I’ve been coming here for years and the quality of taste and care they put in their dishes and desserts is consistent and outstanding. I had the lechon kawali this time with dinuguan sauce and treated myself to the specialty chocolate cake afterwards. The lechon was CRISPY, tender and full of flavor. The dinuguan sauce was the perfect tangy compliment to cut the richness of the delicious pork belly and steamed rice. The cake was not overly sweet but super light and indulgent and every bite was a pleasure. I can’t wait to be back and encourage anyone in the Troy/Sterling Heights area to stop in. If you haven’t been here, you’re missing out!

Food tasted okay not even par (5/10).
They have really good portion size.
Dessert:
Ube cake: was delicious (8/10). Personal preference, did not like the cruncy topping but the cake was amazing.
Might visit again just to explore more of the dessert menu.

Absolutely incredible!
Isla Detroit is hands-down one of the best Filipino restaurants I’ve ever visited…in my life.
Every dish was so fresh and perfect. Not to mention the presentation of every dish was stunning.
The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, you can really tell that the husband and wife team put so much love and pride into their cooking.
They are so friendly that you feel like family the moment you walk in. Service was fast, attentive, and genuinely kind.
If you want amazing Filipino food this is a MUST.

Just ate here tonight. So delicious! The pork Adobo reminded me of my mom’s. The Cashew Sans Rival was heavenly. Jacqueline & JP are delightful. Wonder Filipino food! We’ll be back for sure.

Have to revise: just had Sans Rival, Wow! My new favorite spot for proteins and sweets!! Love
This place!! Sarap dito!

Super friendly and definitely has that family-owned charm. The lechon bowl was sliced and full of flavor, nice touch with the Dinguan on the side. Portions size were good, and the food hit the spot.

I have a question. Isn’t hamburger and fries, macaroni and cheese, and pizza becoming a bit redundant? If your answer is yes, “broaden your (food) horizons.”

Try Isla. This is a family-owned Filipino establishment that serves authentic and amazing food in the tradition of their heritage.

May I recommend the Chicken Adobo, or perhaps the Pancit Bihon? I’m confident you’ll find either “pleasing to the palate.” Did I mention the dessert? It’s “next level.”

Curiosity doesn’t always kill the cat! There’s more to explore beyond “ordinary.” “Break bread” with Isla, and arrive casual. Their objective is to impress you with the experience, not the ambiance.

Try to become a food epicurean, rather than a food imposter.

I had never visited before, this week was my first and I went specifically for the lechón. I can say all the dishes exceeded my expectations, they were packed with flavor and the portions were generous! The lechón kawalis texture is unlike any other! I tried the Isla Halo Halo for dessert and it comes in a beautiful coconut branded with their logo and topped with all these yummy toppings, it was the perfect way to end our dinner. I will be back next week!

We had a good lunch. It was a pretty decent meal. I ordered lechon kawali, which comes with dinuguan, and my husband ordered palabok. The serving size is generous, like American portions. I had to take out my leftovers because I didn’t want to waste a good meal. We also tried the dessert, which is unique and not too sweet, which is very good. The price is affordable, and the place had ample parking space.
