I’ve been to Good Chicken in Montclair three times now, and every single time the food has been consistently good. It’s honestly hard not to spend over $50 because everything is just that tempting. My go-to order is the hot crispy wings and the glazed hot crispy wings with fries, a mozzarella potato dog, and a blue lemonade it hits every time.
I’m used to going places where I’ll order a few different things and at least one or two miss the mark, but that’s never the case here. Definitely one of my favorite food spots in Montclair. Perfect for takeout not too much space for dining in.

Very disappointing! More like fast food than anything else. I actually think KFC is better. The crispy wings reminded me of the wings at a Chinese takeout spot, only greasier. Wings can be ordered mild or hot. The spice is not in the sauce, it’s powder that is added to the wings. The sauce is on the side in small plastic cup and they don’t offer much of a variety. The “hot” buffalo sauce wasn’t hot at all and was similar to Frank’s Red Hot. The soy garlic wings and fries were ok, but not good enough to get me back. Parking is very limited and seating isn’t much better. There are 3 parking spots in front, I had to park in a “no parking zone” and risked getting a ticket. We wanted to stay to eat, but it’s too tiny – seats a total of 7. Way over priced! Just for 3 of us cost over $75. Not going back for sure.

I absolutely love this place! It’s a small store with a few tables. Mostly takeout though. They have a bunch of football memorabilia and other things on the wall but give it a lively feel to it. Their chicken wings are some of the best I’ve ever tasted. They’re they’re drumsticks. Oh my God! They are so juicy so crispy and so flavorful. I don’t know what else to say about this place other than you absolutely need to try it. Thank you. They have mild and spicy options as well as a few others. Please check them out.

Love this place and the owners! My review is long over due. The amount of chicken and fried chicken options in Montclair is out of control, but Good Chicken is THE VERY BEST Korean Fried Chicken, if not the best fried chicken in town.
Best part is that all their sauces are amazing, so you have lots to choose from 🙂

This is the best chicken I’ve ever had. I definitely recommend the soy garlic chicken. It was made to perfection along with their seasoned fries. It’s a small place that I will continue visiting as our new chicken spot…you won’t be disappointed.

Chicken is ok. “Average” to me. My kids and wife enjoyed it, however; others may like it more. Staff is friendly, courteous and attentive. Boneless chicken was great. Fries are small and thin. I think a bigger French fry would be better but that’s my opinion

At first glance it may look like an average chicken spot. It is not. We had ordered the potato dog with it being all mozzarella cheese. When they say mozzarella cheese it was 90% cheese, so for all the cheese lovers this is your dog. An 8 piece Korean style wings having the flavor be soy garlic had reminded me a of a Bon Chon flavor but much better done here at Good Chicken. The chicken was not overly coated in flour, which is one thing I do not like from Bon Chon. The popcorn chicken was portioned into good pieces perfectly cooked and shreds so easily, accompanied by their secret sauce which is the orange sauce that has a little kick, makes for great size for children or people who don’t like big strips. The drinks are great especially the tropical mango added with lychee makes this drink so desirable. The tropical mango mojito is carbonated and is a great substitute for soda. It has a great taste, no real aftertaste and the fries are good too. Nothing on this order missed any check marks. Quality food, great drinks and nice humble place makes this a great place to get food. Will always come back.

The day before, I had a piece of chicken from a friend, and it was delicious. Inspired, I decided to order my own. I ordered an 8 piece, and it was dry, hard chicken (wingdings) and cold seasoned fries.
Overall, it was a letdown and not enjoyable, especially compared to the tasty experience I had the day before. I’m sure the chicken and fries are better when fresh, but that wasn’t my experience during my visit earlier today.
UPDATE: One week later, the owner reached out to me, and they remade my order without any hassle. The new dish was delicious, and they even included a tasty dipping sauce that was gone in minutes. I definitely plan to return and try other flavors. Thanks so much for the excellent food and outstanding customer service!
