My friend and I ordered different items and shared half and half. She ordered the breakfast burrito and I order the breakfast morning burger.

When I tell you!!! The flavors were AMAZING!!! Highly recommend.

And the hot cocoa!? Out of this world.

Loved our lunch at The Salty Chefs! The place is pretty cozy, and the menu has plenty of great options. We tried the “Buffalo Morning” and “Bacon Blue” burgers—both were fantastic and the portions are huge!

The burgers come with a side, and we loved the buffalo chicken soup and the soup of the day. They were the perfect warm-up on a windy day. We sat by the window, which was a nice spot, and the service was very friendly. The best part? We got a free biscuit for finishing our plates! Highly recommend if you’re in Buffalo.

Breakfast burrito with bacon and breakfast sandwich with sausage were both very good. The coffee was also good. We shared the matzo ball soup which had a very welcoming flavor. Next time I’ll bring my own soup spoon though, so I don’t have to use a plastic one, plus I was never a fan of using plastic cutlery anyways especially for one-time use then throwing them in the garbage.

We were in town for a few days and looking for somewhere to have lunch. We were unfamiliar with the area so I Googled nearby restaurants. The Salty Chefs came up and looked like a cute little place. So glad we decided to come here. I ordered the buffalo chicken wrap with a salad and the homemade ranch dressing. I told the owner it needs to be bottled because it was absolutely delicious. Everything about the sandwich and the salad looked and tasted amazing. My husband ordered the hamburger with what looked like hand cut string fries. He loved it. We each had a cup of coffee and refills were abundant and served by the nicest people. I wish I lived nearby so I could come back again and order the same meal. That ranch dressing is addicting.

I love getting lunch here, even though I always get the same thing…the Cobb Salad with chicken. Not only is it delicious, but it’s two meals for me. They are very accommodating if you need to customize, too. They’ll even do the work to make it cheaper for you if you don’t get protein on your salad. I also love that they will wrap your leftovers for you.

Super friendly, efficient and tasty food!

I only have praise for this place! The service is amazing, the staff are kind and attentive. The overall atmosphere was cute, clean, and cozy. Most importantly, the food was amazing!! I ordered the Cobb salad with chicken. Every ingredient in the salad was extremely fresh. The dressing paired well with everything. You can tell that they really care about the food that they’re serving. I’m excited to come back! I would highly recommend!

I stopped by The Salty Chef while in Buffalo to renew my passport—it’s conveniently located right next door to the passport agency. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by the nostalgic sound of 90s alternative rock playing in the background, instantly taking me back to my childhood.

I was welcomed by a gentleman whose warm smile and genuine energy made the experience even better. He proudly said, “We have the best of both worlds—are you feeling breakfast or lunch?” I chose the traditional burger, and it did not disappoint. It was juicy without being greasy, cooked perfectly, and packed with flavor. The fries came in a generous portion—definitely enough to share or take home.
I spoke with the owner Donna, they are doing a post card wall celebrating that we come different place but we are sharing this human experience at this time, that makes us one people! So if you’re reading this I put the address so you can send in a postcard from where ever you are!

What a great place for breakfast or lunch! The food was great and the service was outstanding! I ordered the cheeseburger, it was delish! My spouse ordered the breakfast sandwich; it had egg, bacon and chipotle mayo on a poppy seed bun. The chipotle made the dish a savory sensation. Our child ordered the potato latkes with apple compote and sour cream. It was also outstanding. The coffee was also superb, in our opinion the best served in Western New York.

We came at the tail end of the Holiday Season and we appreciate the fact that there were festive decorations celebrating both Christmas and Chanukah on display. Clearly this is a warm and friendly place that welcomes all.

It is also a fantastic place to stop by when you are visiting the Buffalo Passport Office (another 5 star gem). The cafe is right next door to the office and it closes at 3PM, just as “passport pickup time” begins at the passport office. It is a great place to spend some time and chill while waiting for the professionals next door to carry out their responsibilities.

The only problem is the name of the restaurant. The chefs and others who served us were not salty at all. They were the friendliest people we have met in a long time, and they, collectively, are a paragon of outstanding customer service.

We will definitely come back and also tell our friends about this wonderful place!
