Disappointing Experience with Poor Food Quality & Service

We visited this restaurant on a Friday at around 2 PM as a group of 4, and the experience was far from what we expected. Despite arriving to an empty venue, we waited nearly 30 minutes for our food. We ordered chicken sandwiches and a burger. Unfortunately, the chicken was overcooked and burnt, and the side salads—despite offering two dressing choices—arrived with identical dressings, as if the kitchen had simply decided to simplify their process rather than cater to our selections.

My $19 burger was equally disappointing, featuring what looked like a generic Costco bun, a patty of subpar quality, and a slice of the cheapest cheese available. After just one bite, it was clear that the food quality did not meet basic standards and that was not something any of us wanted to consume.

When we brought these issues to the attention of our server, he initially offered to speak with the manager. However, he later returned with the explanation that the manager was “too busy” at 2 PM—even though the restaurant was empty. This response felt dismissive and disrespectful.
We left after 1 bite to give business elsewhere and have a good food.

Overall, both the menu offerings and the quality of the food left much to be desired. I won’t be giving this restaurant a second chance.

One of my favorite happy hours and I’m a big fan of the Caesar salad. Hosted a meeting here.

**THIS RESTAURANT IS NO LONGER ‘SEVEN’**
But I couldn’t tell you what it *is* called because there were different names on different sign and google. My husband ordered a steak, medium rare, and it came out significantly well done. He sent it back and got another one and the same condition. I got the halibut and it was over cooked? Maybe? Something was off, but it could have been what was supposed to be the ‘lemon caper’ sauce. The salad wasn’t amazing but it wasn’t tragic. Crab cakes as our appetizer was good and came out hot and fresh. We should have known it was going to be less than sub par when it was empty and it looked like there had been a name change. Our server was okay, it took a while to get refills but she tried to take care of the steak issue. Overall, poor quality, over priced, and too long of a wait for what it is.

Fantastic dining experience!!! We had a chance to try the new menu, and everything was excellent. The service was fantastic, drinks never ran out, and even the manager made the rounds to ensure every guest was taken care of and had everything they needed. Food came out timely, and cooked as ordered. The Chicken Curry was a refreshing dish, and a pleasant surprise. We also had the toasted raviolis and flat bread pizza for the table. We will be back.

Stopped in for happy hour and appetizer. Excellent service, excellent mixed drink, and delicious flatbread. Enjoyed a nice quiet hour with my husband.
Returned for dinner. Excellent shrimp & grits and chicken pot pie. Again, excellent service.

We went for Clayton Restaurant Week recently for a three-course meal, and found it to be underwhelming. The server (who I believe was working as manager) was nice and indeed was the highlight of the visit. Dinner took quite a while to come out. The salad was nothing special. The salmon was dry and overcooked, and my partner’s blackened shrimp pasta (with three mid-sized shrimp) was undercooked. The chocolate cake for dessert looked like it came from a supermarket — and not even Costco (which at least is moist!) For $39 per person + tax/tip, we could have gone elsewhere and left satisfied…

Burned crappy food for the premium price. Empty restaurant, but took more than 30 minutes to bring the food. They mixed the order.

We hit them on a slow night right before a holiday weekend. Minimal staff that seemed to be in training, but our wait for food and drinks wasn’t too slow. Atmosphere was nice, though they were clearly in between holidays with totes of decorations stacked high in the corner booth. I’m sure it’s a pleasant place on a different night so I won’t that against them. Street parking is not a problem in the evening, but I know downtown Clayton has parking issues during the workday.

We came here with some out of town guests on a Saturday night around 6pm excited based on good reviews we had read. The dining room was mostly empty but there were a few tables seated on the back patio. Our server seemed busy and disinterested from the get go like we were the last thing on their mind. We initially ordered drinks which took a very long time to come out- including even the soft drinks. One cocktail ordered by our table needed basil and they had to check if they had that and we were told yes. About 15 minutes later the bartender came out and said they didn’t have any which seemed strange for a restaurant not to have basil especially so early in the night. We ordered food as soon as we got the chance because we knew it would be a while before we got our food. The food was overall good once we received it. A few of us got steaks which were cooked well and flavorful. The bourbon chicken was disappointing with a small portion and a mess of vegetables. It looked like corn was just thrown on the plate and was not what we expected from this type of restaurant. Risotto was okay but came drenched in sauce that took over the dish. Our second round of drinks tasted noticeably different than the first- not necessarily bad but no consistency even in something as simple as an Old Fashioned. To cap off our evening we finally got the bill and we only got a non itemized receipt with just the subtotal, tax, and total. We did not want to wait any longer and wanted to leave so we paid and left without any questions. There is definitely potential here but overall a very unsatisfying experience with poor service for the cost. Don’t think we’d return.
