Scuttlebutts is the rare place where I’ll visit just because the owner, Joe Young, is such a kind person who truly LOVES his work, and his community. I think we ALL wish for times we can go someplace and someone recognizes us, asks about our life, remembers past details. That’s Scuttlebutts.
The coffee is fine. The pastries are fine. But they sincerely probably taste better in such a warm environment. I’d encourage ANY aspiring small business resteraunt owner to watch how Joe operates. It’s an absolute pleasure visiting Scuttlebutts. It’s full of heart. And it’s a true asset to the Hutchinson community.
There’s several community anchors in Hutchinson. Scuttlebutts is one of them.

Scuttlebutts is a wonderful spot to meet with friends, have a drink, or grab something to eat. Joe and his staff are friendly, helpful, and always eager to make your visit great. It is located within one of the gems of Hutchinson – The Clayworks. After you have your coffee, you can shop the amazing selection of handmade artwork created by their talented artists and view the monthly rotating exhibits. Do yourself a favor and check out Scuttlebutts!

Their employees are the best in town, always strive to take care of you, and Joe and his group know how to do coffee! Add to the fact they have moved into the most beautiful art center in this part of Kansas and you have an outstanding coffee recipe. He has had years of training as a top notch barista who then passes that knowledge on to his crew. Their coffee is still the best! Holy moly this place is beautiful. Not only did they build a beautiful store, but it is surrounded by the most gorgeous art!

I drink a lot of coffee from many different places, some good and some bad. This place though, is amazing! I first tried a shot in the dark from the first location on N. Main Street and it was good. The other location in the Hospital is also good. I really like the new place on 12th and Main. It shares the same building as Clayworks and Disability Support. Overall, the coffee is great and atmosphere is enjoyable.

Not too shabby. The facility is nice, and I appreciate the naming system. I tried a bacon egg and cheese jalapeño biscuit, which was tasty. The seating area was small but nice. I’m not quite sure how to say it to a coffee place, but the coffee was… light? I’m going to guess there was more oatmilk in my wife’s coffee than coffee. Which is kind of deserved because of the oatmilk, and the decaf, but STILL. I’ll give it another go and hope for a bit more coffee next time.

I absolutely loved our first time there. This place has thee best biscuits. The coffee was delicious and the scone was amazing. The atmosphere was lovely and the people who worked there were the best. They were so friendly and very helpful as to what drink to get. Far from home but definitely one of our must go to places when we travel.

This little hole in the wall coffee shop was really awesome. Not only where the staff knowledgeable about the products they sell but the coffee and breakfast items were phenomenal. We’re actually went back there 3 or 4 times during our stay. It’s large family friendly with a great atmosphere. I we would definitely go here again if we visited Hutchinson in the future. I would definitely rebooked this place to others who love good food and coffee that’s reasonable.
