Overall, our experiences were outstanding! We have been to many omakase restaurants, but with $78 per person for 16 pieces of quality sushi. We went in for mom’s 89th birthday. Inside a bit dark with dark (black) curtains to separate the dining areas into 4. So, I think, they can serve up to 32 guests. This is a big place. Chef was friendly, and the server was polite and attentive. Great price for the good quality sushi! Some reviewers complained about the quality and the price of omakase. I totally disagree. I went expensive omakase restaurants in the past, but 1678 Omakase beats all pricey omakase restaurants. Nothing beats 16-course good quality sushi omakase for $78 bucks!
Big thumbs up for the chefs and the owner! We are coming back soon! Thanks for the great food at the great price!

While visiting Atlanta, we came across this omakase spot and decided to give it a try. At $78 for 16 pieces, it seemed like a solid deal, and the Google photos looked quite promising for the price.

We booked the 1 p.m. seating, arriving about ten minutes early just in case traffic slowed us down.

Gary was our sushi chef, and he and his assistant were impressively efficient while serving a total of nine guests. Our party had three people. We ordered a small bottle of Dassai 39 to accompany our lunch and it was refreshing. 39 means 61% of the rice grain was milled away with 39% left to brew the sake. This is a premium sake at reasonable price.

The fish selection was very good. Highlights for me included the shima aji, uni, chu toro, eel, and botan shrimp.

My only real critique was the seasoning of the sushi rice. I found it a bit too salty, and the acidity felt slightly off, which took away from the natural sweetness of the fish.

Overall, though, it was a solid omakase experience and definitely good value for the money.

I visited expecting a true omakase experience and would like to help set clearer expectations for others considering a reservation.

While the space is designed in a bar-style format, the overall execution felt closer to a prix-fixe sushi course than a refined omakase centered on technique, balance, and craftsmanship.

At $80 per person before tax and tip (bringing the total to over $100), I expected a noticeable distinction from a standard $30 sushi set. Unfortunately, the flavors did not stand out in a way that justified the price. The wasabi was barely perceptible and was not provided separately for adjustment.

The chef prepared sushi while wearing disposable gloves, which may be due to health regulations and is understandable from a food safety perspective. However, at this price point, it slightly detracted from the sense of craftsmanship typically associated with omakase. I also had to request a replacement cup due to cleanliness concerns.

The lasting impression was less “affordable omakase” and more “overpriced sushi set.”

That said, the service was friendly and attentive, and there was a level of creativity in some combinations.

If you understand what this is (and is not), it may still be worth trying once.

Atlanta’s sushi scene continues to grow, and diners here have developed a strong sense of quality. I hope the restaurant continues refining its execution to better align with the expectations that come with the word “omakase.”

Tried the 16-course nigiri omakase ($78) and was really impressed by the value! The quality and freshness of the fish were excellent for the price, and my group left very satisfied.

Service was attentive and efficient, with courses coming out at a great pace. It wasn’t the most interactive or in-depth omakase experience, but everything felt smooth and well-executed.

Overall, a great value spot for quality sushi – definitely worth it for the price.

It seems like the front and back room experiences are very different in terms of ambiance. I specifically requested the front room and we were still seated in the back room with the weird curtain.

I peaked in to the front while waiting on my husband and they looked like they were enjoying their experience a lot more. Our chef didn’t really have much personality and we barely understood what each course was. It felt rushed.

We did the 12 course lunch menu. The fish was high quality and we enjoyed all of them. The standouts were the salmon, scallop, and tuna.

I am not sure if we would be back to try dinner. There are so many other omakase options in Atlanta now, I think you would probably get a better experience at a different location.

It took us a few minutes to find the place since it was dark outside and the signage is quite understated. Once inside, the decor is modern, minimalist, and beautifully zen.
We had a reservation on Thursday and were seated promptly for the 16-piece omakase. The service was straightforward and efficient with no unnecessary frills. The chef worked quickly, preparing a steady flow of delicious sushi.
Overall, we really enjoyed the meal and appreciated the reasonable price for such a satisfying omakase experience.

Had a wonderful experience here! Seated promptly at reservation time in a small intimate room with a handful of other guests. We picked the signature omakase option and were honestly blown away! Each plate was creative, high quality, and very tasty! The wagyu, uni, fatty tuna, and striped jack especially impressed! I also liked that we got to try some off menu items as part of the experience. Left feeling perfectly full. Will definitely be back!

Amazing value for an omakase experience.
Getting 16 courses of fresh, high-quality sushi for this price is hard to find in Atlanta. Every piece was carefully prepared and tasted great.
The pacing was smooth, the service was friendly, and the atmosphere was relaxed — it felt like a much more expensive omakase than what we paid.
Highly recommend if you’re looking for a great omakase without spending a fortune. We’ll definitely be back.

I recently came back from Japan and dare I say this place is genuinely better than the sushi I had over there. The fish was extremely fresh, the selection they chose hit allll the luxurious wants, and they were so generous with drinks! Their restaurant is separated into 3? 8 seater areas. So come here with a date because you’ll be talking all night about the experience.
