Amazing food! We had the chicken plate, steak plate, and sambusa. The meat in the sambusa had a delicious blend of spices, and was amazing! The rice is also very well seasoned with I believe star anise and other spices.
I’ve never had Somali food before, but it reminds me a bit of Indian. The chicken and steak were both cooked well and came with a large portion of rice and veggies.
If you’re in the area, you won’t regret stopping in. We come from out of state a few times a year to Seattle, and we’ll be coming through again for sure.
The service was very welcoming and friendly too, happy to talk and joke with each person. We felt like guests in a home rather than just customers, a great experience overall.
Also try the tea after dinner!

We arrived at the restaurant which is located in a clean, nice neighborhood of a business park. The parking is free and easy in front of the restaurant. I started with some beef sambusa that were well fried and very crispy without being greasy. We had the Somali Tes, which is a tasty spiced tea. We ordered the goat plate with rice and the lamb plate with noodles. Both goat and lamb dishes were very well spice, and the meat was juicy, without being over or undercooked. We will go again when in the area.
The restaurant is family owned and operated. The owner/chef came out to check on his customers to make sure everyone was happy.

Stopped by here after coming back from a long flight from Chicago. So glad they were open that night! Incredibly kind owners that were very welcoming to us and provided great recommendations. We ordered the beef suqaar and goat meat plate. They were out of some other plates because they are so popular. The food was so delicious that we licked our plates clean. Great community and absolutely delicious East African food. They even gave us some delicious bottomless tea to go with our meal. It was great to see cultural religious practice rented out in the restaurant as well; really provided a beautiful sight of cultural diversity and inclusion. Thank you for your welcoming service and for sharing your delicious food with us. We will definitely be back next time we are in the area! (Only recommendation is improvement on the decorations and interior of the restaurant, but they had just opened a few months ago when we had visited.)

Got the goat plate as the lamb shank plate is sold out, the rice is just so so so good, maybe cooked with broth? So tasty, the vegetables and the rice are definitely 5 stars, and the lamb itself I would rate 4 star. The service is amazing too! Highly recommending this place!

My favorite restaurant in the area! The food and service is so amazing we forgot to take a picture until we already started digging in. Their tea is incredible as well as so unique! The goat is always cooked to perfection and everything is perfectly spiced.

I’ve reviewed a lot of places over the years, and made a point to seek out small growing restaurants. This one just hits different. I have never been somewhere where I was so thoroughly treated like a friend.
I had the chicken suqaar, which was spectacular and amongst the best food I’ve ever had across multiple continents. Hershi has also successfully convinced me to visit Zanzibar.

The picture of the platter speaks for itself. Chicken steak, wings, goat meat, and more. The meat was well proportioned and equally delicious. Tender and tasteful. Rice came with a creamy curry sauce.

I wanted something different and this place did not disappoint. The chicken wrap was so good and I got the combo, $11 which is the wrap and fries no drink, not really a combo but OK. I want to come back and try the buffet which seems to be for an hour from 7:30-8:30pm. I’m not sure going to call to make sure. I will try some of the other items next time.

Definitely one of the best restaurants I’ve ever been to in my life. Food with a taste of love, everyone who works there has a beautiful heart, they’re real humans, I’ve never been treated so well in a restaurant.
The food was delicious, a portion very well served, well seasoned and fresh.
Today I came to the conclusion that eating in a restaurant can be synonymous with just coming back with a full belly or you can have an experience, cultural exchange, smiles and come back with a nourished body and soul (which was the case).
I’m from Brazil and being in the United States, I really missed seasoned, fresh and well-made food.
