Made the Right Way. Every Day. There’s a reason our bagels taste different–they’re made the traditional way. At Manhattan Bagel, we give each bagel a dip in a kettle of boiling water, then bake them fresh each morning. That’s how we get our authentic shiny bagels with a crispy, golden crust on the outside and that soft, satisfying chew inside. No shortcuts. Just real, authentic bagels made the way they were always meant to be. We kettle-boil our bagels to lock in that shine and crunch, then bake them fresh daily for a chewy, golden bite. No shortcuts, just the classic NY method – done right, right here, every day.

Counter-serve chain specializing in NYC-style bagels & coffee, plus salads, soups & sandwiches.

I stopped in here just as they were closing up and they were kind enough to fire up the grill for me!!
Nice looking store with a wide variety of baked goods and amazing looking bagels and rolls!!
My most delicious Bacon Egg & Cheddar on a roll with salt pepper and ketchup was exactly that, most delicious!!!
Thank you very much for a great lunch!!!
I will definitely be back!!!

I popped in here for a quick bagel and coffee before shopping. The store was full of people at 10am on a Sunday. My toasted Asiago bagel with butter was very good and served right to my seat by a pleasant young man. Better than the bagel was the coffee. I’m a bit of a stickler with coffee. I am drawn to a dark roast coffee and this one was among the best in the area. Great job, MB.

Paid $8 dollars for a half a bacon strip and an egg. Compared to other bagel shops they ration like crazy. First time here and not coming back

I’m not sure what the $7.79 fee was for because they charged an extra $.99 for a roll and an extra $1.00 for the Swiss cheese. The worst part was that this place never puts enough bacon on the sandwich so I paid $2.00 more for extra bacon and it was the same amount as always. $11.78 for a puny breakfast sandwich. So disappointed but I should have known I would’ve been based on past experiences.

Edit: the company replies with nearly the same response to all the low reviews to apparently appease the customer but they obviously aren’t actually doing anything to make changes for the better.

Staff is amazing. The guy who served me said he has been there for 7 years. The have egg sandwiches, fun bagels and cream cheeses. I got a seasonal coffee cinnamon winter blend, And it was perfect to get me in that holiday spirit. They will also cater events for you, which is perfect for me as a realtor. Really nice vibe with several tables to sit and eat.

Stopped for breakfast to go. It was $17 for two breakfast sandwiches. Both sandwiches tasted like nothing. The ketchup was so watered down. One sandwich had a mini sausage patty that barely covered half of the bagel. The other was BEC, literally one piece of undercooked bacon on the entire sandwich. There was also hair in the bagel.
While we waited for the food to be prepared; we noticed the place is falling apart. Water stains all over the ceiling tiles, the drink cooler is visibly leaking Freon (you can also smell it), the other cooler had puddles leaking from the bottom.

I’m reviewing to save someone else $18 on a terrible breakfast.

So I’m torn about this review. I enjoy Manhattan bagel. However, the franchise in Wharton just can’t get it right. I’ve taken many chances and can’t do it anymore. The chances of me getting the right items for an individual order is a hit or miss. The odds of someone getting exactly what they ordered when ordering for 3 or more people is extremely low. In fact, I’ve never gotten a correct order when ordering for 3 or more people. Today was no exception. On a brighter note, the coffee is always good. If I get the correct order, my food is usually good too. Today I had to go back for an order of 5 breakfast sandwiches 3 times totaling about 50 minutes total. Unbelievable!! I think the person said sorry the first time. Then appeared to be bothered the 3rd time I went back because something else wasn’t right. The nerve!

If I could give negative stars I would. I am baffled by the unprofessionalism at this bagel shop. I walk in with black jean shorts and a red hoodie (with the hood on), stand there waiting for someone to take my order. It’s been years since the last time I have been to this location so I was unaware of the change of the order station (to the middle register). A lady in a black t-shirt taps another lady in orange to tell her I was standing there. The lady in orange turns around and gasps and starts laughing. She says something in Spanish to the lady in black and she starts laughing while also pointing at me. Then the lady in orange tells me to order at the other counter. Am I a spectacle? Am I a ghost? Am I so invisible to you that you can’t see me standing here watching you laugh and point at me? To point and laugh at a customer was beyond rude, disrespectful and unbecoming of a chain bagel shop. To the ladies working that were laughing at me, this is not middle school so you should learn to act more professional in your work environment before you cause more trouble for other customers which will impact this business. As a cherry on top, to be charged over $10 for a plain bagel with egg and ham and a hash brown is way too expensive, especially for only one slice of ham! And $0.65 for butter? Ridiculous. This shop has made me feel unwelcome and I will not be returning. I will make sure to tell my friends and family to not visit such a rude and disrespectful place.

This is a sad excuse for a “bagel” and I’m not someone to complain. This was the “French toast bagel”. They take your name but gave our order to another table then came, took it back, and handed them to us. Loved making my own iced coffee with the flavors out on the counter to try!
