At our Murfreesboro, TN location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

The restaurant was bright and clean when I walked through the doors. The young lady running the counter was sweet and easy to talk to which made the ordering process seamless. My plate came out quickly and was well worth the money. I’m glad I stopped by on my way to Atlanta, God bless.

I asked to get the catfish blackened and spiced up and the kitchen did a perfect job. The woman taking my order even suggested the same for the shrimp and it was a notably better experience of an item I ordered at different locations before.

I ordered the simplest meal, two fish dinner. I waited over 25 min for my food. When I get home and I live across the street from this location, my food was cold and I only received one piece of fish. The kids meal I ordered was cold as well fires included. I tried calling the store and I’m unable to each anyone. This will be our last time here.

The last two times I went in here there were little to no customers inside,but besides that. My food was hot and fresh both times. I gave it a four star because my mac and cheese wasn’t as good. The atmosphere was nice and the server was nice too.

When I first heard a new D’s was coming on South Church, 5 minutes from my home, oh boy, I was absolutely ecstatic! First chance I got I made the short drive and ordered my 4 piece fish with fried okra and fries, and of course tons of vinegar. After the first bite I was HOOKED! I usually don’t eat the sides at any restaurant, but I gobbled mine and that’s saying something.
But their fish is the rockstar for sure. It’s fried to perfection with just the right amount of batter. The beautiful white fish glistens in the light and tastes so incredibly fresh, there is not even a hint of that all-too-common ‘fishy’ taste. The food is just great, that’s all there is too it.

I have more praise for our new D’s! It’s very clear, as of two days ago that changes have been made throughout to improve on the restaurant and safety of its patrons and staff alike. There seems to have been some staffing changes, for the better, as well as incorporating more safety measures. For example, the first time I went there I did almost slip and fall near the drink fountains as the floor is extremely slick when barely wet, I’m happy to announce that there is now a non-slip rug covering that area and the ‘caution wet floor’ sign is much more visible. They have also added hand sanitation stations throughout the premises and as when it first opened I didn’t not see one staff member masking up, the last time I went there, there were several doing so! Not all, but some are better than none! THANK YOU FOR ALL OF THESE CHANGES!!
The food hasn’t changed, it’s still absolutely devine

What ordered vs what I got! Ordered online from their website: 2 pc fish and 2 pc chicken with Cole slaw and okra. Site said ready in 10 min. I live less than that from Capt Ds son south church, Murfreesboro, TN. Get there and only one ordered awaiting pu. She checked my order twice and said all there and handed to me. While getting my drink and took a look and no coke slaw and chix looks unappetizing. (See pic). Brought to her attn bit only offered Cole slaw she argued there is new people in the kitchen. Refused to replace the chix! This location has been crap since it opened. Not sure why it can’t be as good as Capt Ds on Cason Ln!!
