Huge menu to start. Welcoming indoor seating and very clean. The wife and I were looking for a “cheat day” breakfast and this NAILED IT. We ordered the Adobada Torta ( Mexican sandwich ) the meat in this was absolutely delicious. What an incredible experience. The best I’ve had. Secondly we ordered the Meat Lovers breakfast burrito. Typing that made me drool again. And I wont be posting a picture of it as it was eaten before I even thought of capturing a photo for this review. It was so packed with flavors, meat, eggs and goodness. Last we had to try the Birria Tacos con queso. They were a 7/10 from my experiences and others Ive tried. Great options for salsa and sauces at a cute little side bar in the establishment. We will be back. I highly recommend giving this a shot at any point in your day that you’re craving Mexican. Again HUGE menu and it covers it all. 10/10 Added photos of the 2nd burrito we ordered to go.

First time customer – – now customer for life. Smothered Chicken Burrito with beans & rice weighed in an ounce under 2 POUNDS! Caja served me at their Wilson Ave location & she was so patient, nice, & professional. I got it spicy-hot & was not disappointed — they understand how to blend in hot without destroying the flavor. Highest Recommendation.

It’s super easy to order, and DoorDash will also sync so you don’t have to enter your personal information. The establishment is clean and tidy with plenty of seating. The staff is friendly. They also have ordering screens inside the restaurant for people who may struggle with social anxiety, any kind of disability, or language barriers. I ordered my food online, and it was done by the time I got to the restaurant. They definitely give you your money’s worth when it comes to the fillings. Just a heads-up, the pops are not twist tops; they are bottle caps. PS the California burrito was absolutely delicious.

Took my family to eat at this spot today. Wow what a waste of my time and money totally. I ordered the steak fajitas meal and grilled chicken with rice and beans meal. The steak was chewy and way over salted OMG was it super salty. The rice that comes with both plates was cold and stale. The beans weren’t even hot and the cheese on top was cold and unmelted. The total cost of these two plates was $32 bucks not worth it nor was the lady taking the order absolutely didn’t care rather you eat there or not WOW!!!! Good Luck roll of the dice maybe others had better luck.

Came in for this meal and they used mixed cheese instead of queso – language barrier kept from getting it fixed instead they added more mixed cheese and reminded me cheese melts – ( they are literally called queso tacos) .
The price point seems high for the amount of food with no drink. The staff smiled and attempted to fix to the best of their ability. Salsa for chips is pretty tasty. I’ve been before for the Tuesday taco special – both meals are a bit greasy for my taste. I’ll try the breakfast burrito as it is served all day and if that taste good, it will be my go to here. I like the hours they are available, cause I work late so I’m willing to give them another shot.

Great fast casual Tex Mex food. Fast service, great prices. It is so much better than fast food and not much more expensive. I had steak fajitas, which were delicious. Not the same experience as restaurant, but that is fine. No sour cream or guacamole, but expected at price point. They came with one jumbo burrito tortilla instead of several small tortillas

As with most restaurants I see in the Gazette, I took a chance at this Abelardo’s for a quick bite.
The interior hadn’t changed much since I was last at this location (when it was still a Taco John’s). Looked kind of shabby and had lingering smells of cleaning chemicals, not ideal for stimulating an appetite.
My choice from the menu was a carne asada burrito and I felt rather disappointed.
First of all, the kiosk I ordered from gave me a blank slip of paper for my receipt. The crew really needs to get that checked out and fixed.
Second, the burrito meat was on the dry side and a little tough. Not great for something just advertised. The guacamole and pico de gallo added didn’t do much to help.
I don’t really plan on going back because of the poor impression from the burrito and general look of the place. Hopefully, they’ll step up their game.
